Air Pods max Question

2021-05-19 Thread Andy Baracco
I have what is probably a dumb question, but i'll ask it because otherwise i
think I will go crazy.

On each ear piece is a soft foam material and a hard plastic shell. Both the
foam and the shell are detachable. My question is, is the hard plastic shell
meant to be worn? I ask because when I wear the headset with the hard plastic
shell attached. the audio has a tinny quality and my ears really start to hurt
within 30 minutes or so. So i am wondering if this hard plastic shell is meant
to be worn, or just to be used when the headset is stored. If you want to
laugh, please do it either before or after you answer this message.

Then don’t use do not disturb as it will stop you getting all notifications

Under settigs / phone,
You should find notifications,

Try turning some of those off and see how you get on.

Re: Turning touchpad on and off on Macbook Air M1

2021-05-19 Thread Priscilla Garces (prisci)
Hi,
Hope you’re doing well today.
To turn off the touchpad commander, first press and hold the control and option
keys at the same time, and then the second step is to rotate the thumb and
index fingers on the trackpad to the left until you hear “Trackpad commander
off" along with a beep.
To turn it on, repeat the first and second step in reverse. By rotating to the
right until you hear “trackpad commander on”.

Thank you.

Hi Karen & Timothy,

These steps work for both the older SE 2016 & the newer SE 2020 iPhones:

1. Open Settings / Accessibility / Voiceover, or tell Siri to open Voiceover
settings.

2. Swipe to, Audio button, and do a single finger double tap to open.

3. Swipe to, Audio select speaker in call, and if this is, Off, do a single
finger double tap to turn it on.

Description : During audio calls automatically switch to the speaker when not
holding the iPhone to your ear.

Stay safe and take care. Mike.

Subject: [tech-vi Announce List] Apple previews powerful software updates
designed for people with disabilities

Apple Newsroom - Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 1:09 PM

Apple previews powerful software updates designed for people with disabilities

New SignTime service launches Thursday, May 20, to connect Apple Store and
Apple Support customers with on-demand sign language interpreters

Customers visiting Apple Store locations in the US, UK, and France can use
SignTime to remotely access a sign language interpreter.

Cupertino, California Apple today announced powerful software features designed
for people with mobility, vision, hearing, and cognitive disabilities. These
next-generation technologies showcase Apple’s belief that accessibility is a
human right and advance the company’s long history of delivering
industry-leading features that make Apple products customizable for all users.

Later this year, with software updates across all of Apple’s operating systems,
people with limb differences will be able to navigate Apple Watch using
AssistiveTouch; iPad will support third-party eye-tracking hardware for easier
control; and for blind and low vision communities, Apple’s industry-leading
VoiceOver screen reader will get even smarter using on-device intelligence to
explore objects within images. In support of neurodiversity, Apple is
introducing new background sounds to help minimize distractions, and for those
who are deaf or hard of hearing, Made for iPhone (MFi) will soon support new
bi-directional hearing aids.

Apple is also launching a new service on Thursday, May 20, called SignTime.
This enables customers to communicate with AppleCare and Retail Customer Care
by using American Sign Language (ASL) in the US, British Sign Language (BSL) in
the UK, or French Sign Language (LSF) in France, right in their web browsers.
Customers visiting Apple Store locations can also use SignTime to remotely
access a sign language interpreter without booking ahead of time. SignTime will
initially launch in the US, UK, and France, with plans to expand to additional
countries in the future. For more information, visit apple.com/contact
 .

“At Apple, we’ve long felt that the world’s best technology should respond to
everyone’s needs, and our teams work relentlessly to build accessibility into
everything we make,” said Sarah Herrlinger, Apple’s senior director of Global
Accessibility Policy and Initiatives. “With these new features, we’re pushing
the boundaries of innovation with next-generation technologies that bring the
fun and function of Apple technology to even more people — and we can’t wait to
share them with our users.”

AssistiveTouch for Apple Watch

To support users with limited mobility, Apple is introducing a revolutionary
new accessibility feature for Apple Watch. AssistiveTouch for watchOS allows
users with upper body limb differences to enjoy the benefits of Apple Watch
without ever having to touch the display or controls. Using built-in motion
sensors like the gyroscope and accelerometer, along with the optical heart rate
sensor and on-device machine learning, Apple Watch can detect subtle
differences in muscle movement and tendon activity, which lets users navigate a
cursor on the display through a series of hand gestures, like a pinch or a
clench. AssistiveTouch on Apple Watch enables customers who have limb
differences to more easily answer incoming calls, control an onscreen motion
pointer, and access Notification Center, Control Center, and more.

AssistiveTouch allows users with upper body limb differences to enjoy the

Eye-Tracking Support for iPad

iPadOS will support third-party eye-tracking devices, making it possible for
people to control iPad using just their eyes. Later this year, compatible MFi
devices will track where a person is looking onscreen and the pointer will move
to follow the person’s gaze, while extended eye contact performs an action,
like a tap.

Explore Images with VoiceOver

Apple is introducing new features for VoiceOver, an industry‑leading screen
reader for blind and low vision communities. Building on recent updates that
brought Image Descriptions to VoiceOver, users can now explore even more
details about the people, text, table data, and other objects within images.
Users can navigate a photo of a receipt like a table: by row and column,
complete with table headers. VoiceOver can also describe a person’s position
along with other objects within images — so people can relive memories in
detail, and with Markup, users can add their own image descriptions

Hearing Aid App Accessibility

2021-05-19 Thread Vivian Conger
I have a friend who is in the process of ordering new hearing aids and
through her insurance, Regence, she has been connected with Truhearing to
offset the purchase of her devices. She has been evaluated and Truhearing 5
RIC lithium premium hearing aids have been ordered. She is hopeful that
they will pair well with her iPhone and the iPhone app for them will be
accessible. Does anyone have experience working with Truhearing devices
rebranded from Signia?

Thanks much for any input.

Vivian and Sallie

Do not disturb when on a phone call

My iPHone S E 2020 is running IOS 14.5.1.

If possible, I wish  to configure the phone in such a way that when I am

notifications or phone calls. If this is possible, please tell me how to
do it.

Description : During audio calls automatically switch to the speaker when not
holding the iPhone to your ear.

iPhone SE 2020

2021-05-19 Thread Lehmann, Timothy A

I have an iPhone SE 2020 and can make phone calls fine. When a phone call comes
in it always puts the phone call on speaker phone and it will not shut off when
I put the iPhone to my ear. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change?
Thanks and have a nice day!

Hello,

Instagram anywhere else.

Hello everyone,
For the last few days, I’ve been experiencing a problem whenever I try to
upload a video to Instagram using Backpack Studio. Sometimes the app crashes,
at other times, it is just impossible to upload the video because the progress
bar never goes on. I used to do this with no problem, but now it seems mission
impossible. I don’t know what is happening, but the kind of the same thing
happens with Bossjock JR.

Is someone else having this problem?
