RE: Are bard mobile download books saved in an iPhone back up?

2021-07-16 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I can't double check this, but the BARD Mobile App for Android let's you create
folders and move your books into different folders. Is it possible your friend
has an Android phone? Obviously, you can also do this on your PC or a
cartridge, but that's not what we're talking about here.

Re: Are bard mobile download books saved in an iPhone back up?

2021-07-16 Thread Richard Turner
In the BARD app bookshelf, you have the option of organizing by Title, Author,
and latest.
That is all.
Whereever he has them stored, it is not in the BARD app.

Re: Are bard mobile download books saved in an iPhone back up?

2021-07-16 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
Mary, I don't know what your friend is doing, but you cannot organize
your bard books into any kind of folders or subfolders when you are
using bard mobile. I've got almost 1500 bard books I've downloaded
over the past 2 years. I dearly wish I could have those bard books
backed up to any new iPhone I get in future. Here's hoping NLS will
get on board with allowing its books to be backed up and synced to
multiple devices.

Re: Voiceover issue on iPhone:

2021-07-16 Thread Michael McKay
Hi there:

Thank you for getting back to me on this subject. I’m not having any trouble
ordinarily just when I press the home key and tell it to send a text message to
somebody usually when I take my hand off the honky, it will say or ask me what
I want to say which means the voiceover will do that. For some reason it’s not
focussing and reading and giving me vocal feedback. The voiceover is always on
so it seems to be working OK in other things just not with this situation. I do
not know if I accidentally pressed something or not as I’ve never gone in there
before. So I’m wondering if it is something else. If you have any further
advice it would be appreciated thank you so much cheers.

And, along with what Donna said; that is Siri you are hearing; not VoiceOver.
Make sure Siri didn't get turned off from the Home button access.

Hi List Members:

I seem to be having an issue with the voice over on my iPhone, in that when I
press the home key, I hear the sound, but no voice feedback. I have been
sending text messages to friends, and family by pressing the home button, or
home key, and ordinarily I would hear voiceover say What do you want to say.
But today, I am not hearing that at all, just sound. As far as I know, I have
not pressed anything that would cause that to happen. So I am not sure what the
issue is. I would appreciate any assistance.

Thank you in advance.

Voiceover issue on iPhone:

2021-07-16 Thread Michael G McKay
Hi List Members:

I seem to be having an issue with the voice over on my iPhone, in that when
I press the home key, I hear the sound, but no voice feedback. I have been
sending text messages to friends, and family by pressing the home button, or
home key, and ordinarily I would hear voiceover say What do you want to say.
But today, I am not hearing that at all, just sound. As far as I know, I
have not pressed anything that would cause that to happen. So I am not sure
what the issue is. I would appreciate any assistance.

Thank you in advance.

RE: accessible sprinkler timer

2021-07-16 Thread sarai.bucciarelli
That might explaine why I cannot find a 4 zone. They are so expensive, so
wanted to see what was accessible before I purchased.

I recently purchased a Rachio 12 channel for $149.00 and I’m supposed to get a
rebate from our water department bringing the cost down to $75. I can’t speak
for how accessible the setup is because my lawn man did that as he has been on
me to purchase one of these for two years. With the app on my iPhone I can
monitor each channel, turn things on and off and see how long each channel runs
and adjust that. What I have done so far is pretty accessible. One problem is
that I think the smallest they make is an eight channel.

There are so many out there, Rachio, Rainmachine, Rainbird, Metro and those are
just some of the names I remember when I just looked on Amazon. Most of them
claim to have features like integration with the forecast so they don't come on
if it's raining, most say they work with google and Alexa and some include
Apple Homekit but I'm almost equally certain there are differences in quality
and useability. Guess I'll do some more reading on landscaping forums and such
about which names are the ones to look for.

Hi,

I used to have the B Hyve Smart irrigation controller. It was pretty cool, it
connected to Wi-Fi. There was a mode where you can set it to her you can put it
on the schedule and based on the weather, if it detected rain, it would go on a
delay. It would also go on a delay if there was frost coming up. The app used
to be fairly accessible. I used to have this unit back in 2019. It cost me
about $120 in the US. not sure if the app remains accessible with voiceover. It
has been a while.

I seem to remember that in the past the "Rachio" brand of such controllers has

interested in this as I just ordered a raised bed watering kit which should
hopefully allow me to set up the first 3 of my 6 raised garden beds and if I am
happy with the result I'll order another one of these for the other 3 and one
more for my raised flower boxes in front of the house. I would at that point
also be interested in adding an automated and connected controller and while my
two lawn areas in front and behind the house don't have any built-in sprinkler
system, I want to also look at that. They are only relatively small areas of
lawn of maybe 1,000 square feet each so I would probably try and install it
myself.

I didn't know you could do that with the bard ap.
I never thought about it because if I want to read a book, I download it.

Re: Are bard mobile download books saved in an iPhone back up?

2021-07-16 Thread Mary Otten
OK. My friends problem is that he has a large library which he has organized
into folders and subfolders etc., because he uses books for various things. So
he is not going to be happy, but thank you.

No. I have ended up in bard jail for redownloading things onto a new iPhone. I

I do not believe they are.
But, I've not kept enough books on my device to worry about that.
And now, that they have their collection in the cloud, books download amazingly

RE: accessible sprinkler timer

2021-07-16 Thread karl Smith
I recently purchased a Rachio 12 channel for $149.00 and I’m supposed to get a
rebate from our water department bringing the cost down to $75. I can’t speak
for how accessible the setup is because my lawn man did that as he has been on
me to purchase one of these for two years. With the app on my iPhone I can
monitor each channel, turn things on and off and see how long each channel runs
and adjust that. What I have done so far is pretty accessible. One problem is
that I think the smallest they make is an eight channel.

claim to have features like integration with the forecast so they don't come on

Apple Homekit but I'm almost equally certain there are differences in quality

It
has been a while.

more for my raised flower boxes in front of the house. I would at that point
also be interested in adding an automated and connected controller and while my
two lawn areas in front and behind the house don't have any built-in sprinkler
system, I want to also look at that. They are only relatively small areas of
lawn of maybe 1,000 square feet each so I would probably try and install it
myself.

Hi,
This one is eight zones, but it does work well with the iPhone app. I have not
tried configure it with Alexa.

Re: acccessible sprinkler timer

2021-07-16 Thread Feliciano Godoy
Hi,
I used to have the B Hyve Smart irrigation controller.

Re: Supersense Presents Live: a Free Virtual Concert

2021-07-16 Thread Mickey Quenzer
Yes I was interested in that concert but missed it because I didn’t have a way
of putting it in the calendar. It would be nice if the chat work the same as
the messages chat. Not sure how to influence that though!

Hello, I enjoyed the concert last night, and hope to still tip the performers if
I can find the correct method to do so. It would probably be by Paypal.
This was the first time taking a Youtube stream live for me, and the first time
using their chat feature.
The VoiceOver accessibility was good, and I had to create a channel to use the
chat apparently. Entering the text for my chat wasn’t as straigtforward as I
anticipated it should be. I had to double tap on the custom emoji button to
get text to enter and allow the send button to be active, instead of merely
double tapping on the text field button as would normally be the case.
I’ll check the web site for contact and tipping info.
