Re: Changing emoji skin tones

2022-03-27 Thread Donna Casteen
Stephanie,

The skin tone can't be changed on the smiley or other faces. To change the skin
tone on the hand gestures & people, tap on the image & hold, this will bring up
the different skin tones for you to choose from. The skin tone choices will be
above the image.

RE: door dash app questions

I had no issue placing an order using the app. Where do you find the reorder
option? Is it when you go to the restaurant you ordered from?

These days that seems to be about the only thing you can do with the app. It
offers you the opportunity to reorder things you ordered before. the last few
things you ordered are listed at the beginning of the menu choices, and there
is an orders tab at the bottom where you can review previous orders and you are
given the option to reorder.

RE: How to change the location in the weather widget on my iPad

2022-03-27 Thread Loreal Lavigna
OK. Go into edit mode on your iPad. Tap on the button at the top that says,
"Add widget" or something very similar. I'm doing this from memory without
looking. From there you should find your weather widget. Let me know if you
need any further help. Happy to try and help when/where I can.

Changing emoji skin tones

2022-03-27 Thread Stephanie Brown
I remember seeing a podcast from a couple years back about how to change skin
tone on some of the emoji on the iPhone. Tried doing that today, both with
standard typing and touch typing, but can’t seem to get it to work. Is this
something that is broken? Or, has the method for doing it changed since then?
Thanks

HI Mary,

If you double tap on that weather widget, it will take you to Safari. Here, you
can change the location. There is a search field that asks you for your city or
zip code, and you can change it from there. You may also be asked if you want
the weather widget to allow your location status. Hope this helps.

RE: Syncing Contacts from Facebook?

2022-03-27 Thread Loreal Lavigna
There used to be native support both with IOS and Android several years back,
however, after 2013, it appears that all native support for syncing your
Facebook contacts to your mobile devices no longer exists no matter the
platform you’re using. I’ve tried the third-party options too, but with no
success. I’ve just had to contend with finding certain ones I want to add,
manually add any/all info by hand, and go on about my day. It sucks, but I
think this was a Facebook decision ultimately and not necessary an Apple or
Android decision. Facebook even did away with a beloved feature for me some
years back, the phonebook feature.

Subject: Syncing Contacts from Facebook?

Good morning,

I am trying to do something, but everything I’ve tried or googled doesn’t seem
to work and always tells me the same thing. I’m wondering if I will be able to
do it or if it will no longer work because I have a much later IOS version than
10. Even the very latest things I read on Google tell me almost the exact same
thing, but I get no results from the get-go in looking at the settings app.

I would like to sync my Facebook contacts with my iPhone contacts. I’d like to
sync the photos and pertinent information for them.

Everything I’ve googled tells me to make sure I’m logged into my Facebook app
(which I am), go to settings, and under facebook, look for the “Update all
Contacts” or something to that effect, once I have the app enabled to access
contacts and calendars. Well, I have that option enabled, but I don’t see
anything that tells me I can update the contacts.

Then, it tells me that I can use a third party app as an alternative to also do
what I want. But, the apps they mention are either outdated or don’t let me get
far. It kept talking about one called Sync.me and another one called FaceSync,
but that second one won’t work past IOS 10. I used to use a great one called
GoSync.

This isn’t a huge deal, I guess. I just remember being able to do this back in
the day and wanted the ability to do it again. It’s been a couple of iPhones
since I’ve done it.;

Any ideas?

Jim

I use Tubi on my iPhone 8 and it works well. I'm not much into
different TV shows, but I do like checking out different movies. Just
a quick heads up, they don't have any described movies on tubi.

Dan,

If your watch is paired with your iPhone & your iPhone is close by you should
be able to enter the password from your iPhone. A text field box should pop up
on your iPhone screen. I can't recall having to turn on any specific setting
for this to occur, but it has been 8mos since I setup my watch. Otherwise, you
will need sighted help, being that scribble requires you to be able to print
the letters of the password with your finger. Why only the watch 7 has an
onscreen keyboard is beyond my comprehension, being Apple supposedly strives
for accessibility.

How in the world do I do this?

RE: removing music

2022-03-27 Thread Richard Turner
I was trying to write an explanation without knowing the whole setup you have,
and realized, it would be faster for you to call Apple accessibility
877-204-3930 they are there 24/7.

Subject: removing music

What is the easiest way to completely remove all music from my iPhone? I ask
because I created a whole new playlist and in the past iTunes would remove
songs from the phone that was not in the itunes playlist. It is not doing this
any more. I am stil finding christmas songs on my phone when there are no
Christmas songs in the new playlist.
