RE: Follow

2023-02-19 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I have no issues whatsoever with Facetime. Have you rebooted your device? This
sounds like more of a connectivity issue, a restart of your phone would be the
first step, if that doesn't help I woul d reboot my router. I assume you are on
Wi-Fi when this happens? If you are using cellular data when you are getting
disconnected from Facetime calls I would turn off the phone completely, then
pop the SIM tray out a little, no need to remove it completely, push it closed
again and start up your iPhone and see if that helps.
If you are still having issues I would go to Settings > General > Reset and
reset network settings only. This will also reboot your phone and it will
require you to enter your Wi-Fi password again. Also, if you phone is called
something lik e "Adrian's iPhone", you have to go to Settings > General > About
and rename your iPhone since resetting network settings changes the name of you
rphone to just "iPhone".

Activity in Apple Watch SE2?

2023-02-19 Thread Fazil M.
Hi, Group.

I have a non-cellular Apple Watch SE2.

When I was in gym today, I saw 'Setup Activities' on the Watch-face of SE2
and when I double-tapped on it, I wasn't sure how to set activities up.

Any help is much appreciated.

One more thing, I am trying to find and download the manual of SE2 or any
podcast/tutorial from Voiceover perspective but no luck so far, any help
here would be duly appreciated too.

Thanks!

Youtubetv is a little cheaper at $64.99 .. and if you have TMobile, you can get
it for $10/month off for at least the first year .. In my opinion it works
better on the ATV than Direct TV. Also depending on your area, Spectrum has
sever streaming packages that can end up around $50/month for about 15 cable
channels and your locals ..

Unfortunately I failed. Does the site tell you what the word was if you fail,

RE: screen curtain

2023-02-19 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
If VoiceOver is not running you cannot have Screen Curtain on.

Screen Curtain is only available while VoiceOver is active.

If you were able to enable Screen Curtain without VoiceOver you would be unable
to use your device as you would have no feedback visual or audio.

You can however disable speech when VoiceOver is running, useful if you are a
Braille user only.

Hi Janet,

I am pretty sure that "screen curtain" is a feature of Voiceover, so if she is
sighted and not using Voiceover, "screen curtain" is not available to her.

On your second question go to settings, accessibility, Voiceover, then Rotor.
You will have to flick down the screen many times, but eventually you will come
to "direct touch." Double tap it and it will be on the rotor.

I hope that helps!

Subject: Re: Accessible crossword puzzle apps

Hi Donna,

I usually play on my iPad, but I have also played on the phone. Setting
VoiceOver to skip all images results in each letter only being spoken once. The
first letter you hear as you flick down is the required letter. Double-tapping
enters the letter.

I hope that helps.

Best,
Anna

Anna, in regards to the game Spelling Bee; When you swipe through the letters

the actual letter? Ex. Image A A, Image B B, etc another words it is like the
letters are repeated twice. I've turned off describe images in the rotor. I
have tried playing Spelling Bee from the New York Times app & website & the
crosswords app, which is developed by New York Times & neither is accessible
for me to play Spelling Bee. Tapping on the image letter or the actual letter
does not select the letter. I'm thinking that I have an accessibility setting
that is interfering with game play. Playing on an iPhone 11 with the latest IOS

Hi Candy,

I play Wordle in the main New York Times app by choosing the Play tab, then the
Play link for Wordle.

Anna, are you playing from the app which is called solve wordle or are you
playing the daily word on the new york times website? I am able to play the
daily word, but, the app I downloaded called solve wrdl, I just can't figure it
out. It is totally different from the single word that i am able to play from
the new york times website. Thanks for any help.

Hello Candy,

I have been playing Wordle and the Spelling Bee from within the NYTimes app,
and yes, they are accessible. I haven’t tried playing them from the crossword

Please excuse me if I am misunderstanding this thread. I downloaded the New

Am I correct? In understanding that this particular app is accessible? If so,
could someone please tell me how to use it?
Anna, I understood that you were unable to use the Crossword app, but I am
thinking that one is different. I’ve played Wordle every day, but that is only
the one word that is with the New York Times. Is this app accessible? Thanks
for any help.

Hi Wayne,

Yes, the keyboard is really oddly spaced. Too bad they didn’t use the one they
use for Wordle. So whoever said the app was accessible, please tell us how you
do it.

You made it further than me. While I could see the clue and after a time could
enter the missing letters, I found the keyboard to be challenging at best. I
was expecting a normally sized keyboard, but found that there were noticable
gaps between each letter. This made using explore by touch to find the right
letter to be quite taxing. I eventually figured out that if I found the right
row, I could flick between the letters and double tap the one I wanted. I have
since deleted the NY Times Crosswords app for these issues. I'm glad that
others found the app to be accessible, but it wasn't for me.

Hi everyone,

I tried to play the mini crossword in the New York Time Crosswords app, but I
couldn’t quite make it work. When it opens, the Across clues are listed in a
very accessible way, saying how many letters the word has and whether any
letters are filled in. If I touch one (not double-tap but just touch), the
letters I enter go into that clue. If I double-tap anywhere, a screen
displaying the grid opens, and if I touch a square, I’m told which square it is
and whether it’s blank or what letter it contains. Doing a scrub gesture
returns me to the list of Across clues. So far, so good.

However, I can’t find a way to hear the Down clues with the same information.
If I touch an Across clue and flick down, there’s a Reverse Direction option,
but whether I simply touch that option or double-tap it, the clues don’t switch
to the Down clues. The clue at the bottom of the screen, which is the one being
edited does change to a Down clue, but it doesn’t tell you how many letters are
in the word or whether anything is filled in. If I choose the option to bring
up the list of clues, the clues do say if a letter is filled in, but not how
many letters total there are or wher

RE: screen curtain

2023-02-19 Thread Debby

I hope that helps!

please could someone tell me how a fully sighted person puts the screen curtain
on and off. she has her phone on lock after 30 seconds so I don't know if that
makes a difference. I told her to try the three finger triple tap but it
didn't work.

one final question how do I put direct touch on the rota Janet

RE: What Are the Cable-Ends Called That go in Charger?

2023-02-19 Thread Don ball
Yes it does the lightning port is on the phone and is a bit smaller than the USB c port on the other end of the cable. You can use a lightning to USB  a witch is the big USB  port and will fit most of your old charging stuff, your older computer etc.  Your iPhone 8 cable should fit on your iPhone 12 with no problem and you can still find that old cable every where. I am sure you can find both chargers at your local Walmart. This is happening because The EU. Witch has a big market share in the world is standardizing the usb c port.
