Re: A quirky iphone issue

2023-03-03 Thread Alex Stone
I’ve seen this before, and it’s a major pain in the ass! I use Bluetooth
earbuds and headphones most of the time, and if I want to make a phone call I
have to remove them or turn the off before I do.

to my phone. But as soon as the call connects and starts to ring, or when the

Is there some setting I am missing or something I need to do to correct this

I have noticed that audible takes longer to load when I first open it. I have
an iphone 8 running ios 15.7. generally audible works fine after it loads
however, I have noticed that I have to tap on a book multiple times before it
will open the book and start reading it. I had to spipe up and then back down

RE: Issue with most Recent update of Audible app

What setting do you set to have books automatically deleted form your phone
when you delete?

I agree. Audible might be a tiny bit slower at opening, but it works fine for
me. I've got my audible app set, to once I finish reading an audible book on
my phone, to automatically delete itself from my phone. It works great. I'm
currently reading Dreamcatcher by Stephen King.

hi Carla,
You may need to go into the Face ID and passcode settings and turn off the
require a tension feature. This feature, when turned off, does not require your
eyesight to be directed at the phone. Most people, I believe, with visual
difficulties turn this off., I hope this helps.
Best, Keith

RE: Passcode & Face ID Question

2023-03-03 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You might want to explain a bit more how exactly you use it, e.g. how far away
do you hold your phone etc. When you set up Face Id you said somebody helped
you, did you have Voiceover turned on when you set itup or did a sighted person
do it without Voiceover? If so you should probably first turn off the attention
aware feature. Apart from that it would probably be easier if a sighted person
can help you trouble shoot since it is possible you just hold the phone too
close or maybe you hold it on a bit of an angle and the camera doesn't see your
face properly.

RE: PLEASE DO DO REPORT to Apple - nolonger possible to manage subscriptions under the hood updates of Apple become more and more a drama for VIPS

2023-03-03 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I don't have this issue, I can stop on the first one and even go into it and
back out and then continue and also swipe left again. I have currently 3 active
and 1 inactive subscriptions. Anybody who still has issues should close all
apps and reboot and also say which device they use so it is possible to see if
this is only happening on certain devices.

This is true. If you stop on a subscription, you can't go further to the right
to see the next one.
Really easy fix though.
Slide 1 finger from top to bottom and it should work for you that way.
Not the most ideal way to do things, but i'd rather have this than nothing at
all.

No issues here whatsoever on my iPhone 13 Pro. I can swipe right and left, I
can go into a subscription and I actually just cancelled an annual subscription

Anybody who still has issues should maybe close all apps from the app switcher

Issue with most Recent update of Audible app

2023-03-03 Thread realman02 via VIPhone
Hi. Ever since I downloaded the most recent update to the Audible app, audible
is very slow loading and each time I perform an action it slowly loads. Is
anyone else having issues with the latest update?
I'm using an Iphone 14-Pro.
Thanks! John Riehl

I am totally blind and have set up facial ID on an 11 and a 14 Pro. I had no
problems. Just extend your arm about a foot from your face. Hold your phone to
the level of it being centered with your face. You will be instructed turn face
to right, left, up down, I can't remember, but just keep doing what it says to

Carla. It will take a bit of practice to get face ID wright. It isn't
something you can learn in 15 or 20 minutes. I don't even think much about
face ID THESE days. Good luck.

Yes, with
attention aware, you have to make eye contact with the screen v. just look in
the direction. Apple should probably rephrase this feature to mean eye contact
v. attention since they are different things.

hi Carla,

You may need to go into the Face ID and passcode settings and turn off the
require a tension feature. This feature, when turned off, does not require your
eyesight to be directed at the phone. Most people, I believe, with visual
difficulties turn this off., I hope this helps.
