Re: Siri volume very low when wearing airPods

2023-09-08 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
I did that once when the volume of Siri was very low on my bluetooth
headset. It fixed the problem with no issues.

Re: Siri volume very low when wearing airPods

2023-09-08 Thread Anna Dresner
Hi Kimberly,

I would suggest engaging Siri while you are wearing AirPods, such as asking for
a weather forecast, and turning up the volume while Siri is speaking. I hope
that will fix the problem.

Best,

RE: finding an app on the ipHone

2023-09-08 Thread Christopher Chaltain
It always throws me, but the tag for the edit box in the search tab is "Games,
apps, stories and more." You've got to listen to all of that before you hear
that it's an edit box.

RE: iOs doorbell

2023-09-08 Thread Star Gazer
We like ours, you can set it to tell you when a person is coming, though
usually ours picks up people just walking by which is fine with me, our street
is quiet, and the person is coming notification also f course works for people
actually coming to see you. We also have it set to tell us when a package has
been left, not always accurate but we like it. Mostly I like that everything is
recorded which is nice, real easy to prove that a package wasn't delivered,
we've gotten some great videos of the kids, we used it once to prove to a guy
that the contractor who swore up and down was lying, the boss kept insisiting
his guy had been there, we kept insisting he hadn't,, and finally I sent him
the video with the time his contractor said he was there.. but wasn't.
Obviously, if you are totally blind you won't see who is at your door but you
can hear whatever is going on through the microphone or audio track of the
recording.

Siri volume very low when wearing airPods

2023-09-08 Thread Kimberly Gardner
Hi,

I've had this problem for quite a while now. When I'm listening to
some media through my airPods and a text comes in I can hardly hear
siri when he reads the text. The media volume is normal and when the
airPods are disconnected siri's volume is also normal. Has anyone seen
this?

I feel like it started the iOS16 cycle but I can't be sure exactly
when. More importantly, is there a fix?

Thanks

Re: How do I transffer an app from the app library back to my home screen?

2023-09-08 Thread Alan Lemly
Hi Sandy, Let's say you have an app named Sandy that you want on a home screen instead of just in your App library. Find the app in your library and place focus on it. Do a single finger swipe down until you hear edit mode and single finger double tap on the screen to execute edit mode. Single finger swipe down until you hear drag Sandy and single finger double tap the screen to execute the drag. You should be placed on the first available home screen containing space to hold your app. Single finger swipe down and you'll hear options saying things like drop Sandy before the app with focus, drop Sandy after the app with focus, or combine Sandy in a folder with the app with focus. When the one you want is announced, single finger double tap the screen to execute it. Good luck. Alan Lemly Sent from my iPhoneOn Sep 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM, Sandra Finley wrote:I can find the app  and  activate edit  Mode. Try a single finger triple tap on the app store icon. Then flick right until
you find search and double tap. The edit box will be open ready to enter the
name of the app you want to find.

RE: iOs doorbell

2023-09-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
It works well, but I wouldn't say it works "real well" because there are still
some issues. The most annoying I find is that when you open your camera and
select "Tap to go live", Voiceover speech is switched to the earpiece so it's
like when you are on a phone call and at least I have not found a way to get it
back to the external speaker. Of course this makes it very difficult to hear
Voiceover, if you put your phone too close to your face the proximity sensor
kicks in and you can't do any gestures and while I can hear Voiceover if the
volume is high, it's almost impossible if you are in a place where there is
some background noise. The only work-around for this is to make sure you are
using a wired or wireless headset before you do this.

Re: The importance of calling Apple Accessibility

2023-09-08 Thread Ed Worrell
I mostly agree with this statement. I haven’t had any issues with Apple
Accessibility responding to my emails. In fact, I get a response with more
questions about 90% of the time. It all depends on how in-depth you are in your
email, and describing the issue. Both forms of communication are useful, to say
one is better than the other, is hard to actually say. Granted you feel like
they can’t ignore you if you call, but to say they prefer the calls is a bit of
a stretch. Honestly if you report something, either via email, or via the phone
it will be heard, and it takes time for the devs/engineers to look at the
issue. Sometimes you might not hear anything from the Accessibility team, as
they are not only dealing with Voiceover bugs, but all of the accessibility
bugs being reported across the devices/OS’s. I honestly feel however you want
to report bugs is probably just fine with the accessibility team, just report
them when you find them.

RE: iOs doorbell

2023-09-08 Thread Star Gazer
We have a Ring doorbell and you can have it ring
through your phone and/or an Alexa. It works real well.

Subject: iOs doorbell

Hi all, I have a couple questions, which might seem silly. Have you heard of a
remote doorbell? Is there anything like this that I can activate with my iPhone?

I’m asking because we need to train our dog with better doorbell/visitor
behaviors. The tips are suggesting ringing a doorbell when there are no
visitors to begin associating that sound with something positive. He is new to
us and 10 years old. Keep your paws crossed I can do this. ;)

Thanks,
Traci

Clubhouse update ruined the app

2023-09-08 Thread Kathy Brandt
Just warning you in case you haven’t seen it. It seems to be all about voice
chatting in 30 seconds increments, supposedly can get to live rooms, but can’t
figure it out, let alone how to use the chat feature. Other people on Twitter
are complaining. Have any of you figured out how to get to the live rooms?
