I'd suggest to run down your backup phone as much as you can.  I've
had my phone run down to 4 or 3% before recharging it.  I use my phone
for book reading and watching movies all the time and it is really
cool.

Preserving batteries

I have a back up phone that I would like to use for reading books etc. When I 
had a back up phone in the past I kept it plugged in all the time and 
apparently this killed the battery. How can I use this backup phone in such a 
way that I do not destroy the battery?

Apple will finally let you change your iPhone’s default notification sound

If you don’t like the default notification sound on your iPhone, tough luck. 
Apple hasn’t provided any means of changing it going back as far as we can 
remember–the iPhone’s ascending three-note sound has become somewhat synonymous 
with smartphone notifications.

Of course, Apple has always let you change the notification sound for certain 
apps such as Messages Mail and even sometimes for specific types of 
notifications (like your Ring doorbell), but if it doesn’t, you get what Apple 
gives you which, until iOS 17 was called Tri-tone. When iOS 17 launched, Apple 
updated a bunch of tones and sounds, changing the default alert from Tri-tone 
to Rebound. It’s a less harsh sound, but some complain it’s also less 
noticeable and perhaps quieter, and they want to go back. Until now, they 
couldn’t.

With iOS 17.2, Apple’s going to do you one better: Not only can you restore the 
sound to Tri-tone, you can finally change the default notification sound and 
haptics to whatever you want.

First spotted in iOS 17.2 beta 4, all you have to do is open the Settings app, 
tap Sound & Haptics, and look for the new Default Alerts setting. Tap that and 
you can restore the notification sound to Tri-tone (you’ll find that within 
Classic), or use any other alert sound you wish. You can also change the 
haptics for your default sound.

It’s an overdue change, to say the least. Couples everywhere will no longer 
need to ask “Was that my phone or yours?” when an alert comes in. Thank you,

I've noticed, since latest update, my double tapping the screen doesn't
always get a response and will  sometimes trigger something other than what
I'm focused on.  Second issue is that when I dictate a text message, using
Siri, she will only read the first part of it back to me, then  after the
microphone seems to go on and off, will finally read it all back.  Almost
like she isn't aware that I've completed my dictating.

With these issues occurring after the update, I just wondered if this  could
be a factor?

How the GPS works is when the AirTag is near somebody who has an iPhone,The identification number of the tag goes through that iPhone and up into the cloud, so that if you’re using find my iPhone, you can see the location where the AirTag was last near an iPhone. If the AirTag is not near an iPhone, you won’t get this information. Or, if it is near an iPhone, and then moves away from the iPhone, then you would get only the location of where it was when it was near the iPhone, and not its current location. Hi, I have one and I agree it is very easy to set up but, I noticed that if 
there is some noise in the room or area, it is difficult to hear. As far as the

I have used them in my luggage and also put one inside my 12 string guitar in 
case I leave it somewhere or someone decides to steel it. They are very easy to 
set up and work well.

Hi. I have air tags on my suit case, both my back packs, my keys, my wallet and 
my three cats. They’re easy to set up. I haven’t yet actually lost something 
and had to find it using the tag but I have played with them and they work 
great. If you have one of the phones with lidar you can get practically on top 
of the item.
