Well, I got an email from Apple today and it looks like all the AI stuff is gonna be on all of the iPhone 15 models, not series 14. So I for one won’t be getting any major update as far as seeing anything with AI as to my knowledge since I have an iPhone 14.Sent from my iPhoneOn Jun 10, 2024, at 8:36 PM, Dennis Long wrote:I agree. From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Sieghard WeitzelSent: Monday, June 10, 2024 5:45 PMTo: viphone@googlegroups.comSubject: RE: Today's WWDC keynote and iOS 18 announcement We all know what Siri is like right now, but with full AI integration I have a feeling we may all be surprised how amazing it may end up being; of course from the little I heard this will not be one of these on/off moments where as soon as iOs 18 is released in September it will include all of what it will have a year from now and after the main .1, .2 and .3 updates which typically happen in Late October, before Christmas or in the new year and again in early March. Hi,

I saw this on the Tech-VI list and thought I’d pass it on. A link in the below

to do.

RE: Today's WWDC keynote and iOS 18 announcement

2024-06-10 Thread Cristóbal Muñoz
I literally asked Siri this morning what time was the WWDC keynote and I got
one of those generic “”this is what I found on the web.”
Whatever they do or don’t’ do with Siri, it can’t be as bad as it is X years
later than when it was introduced. Just one hot useless mess.

Today’s Keynote, but he stopped when they started talking about the Mac.

2024-06-10 Thread Richard Turner
Hi Sieghard,

In fact, after the Mac when they started into the new “Apple Intelligence”
stuff, they got into detail about the new things coming to Siri.

I’m not clear if most of that is only on devices using the M chips or not. I’m
sure those details will be clear soon.

Do you have any idea when this app might be available in the US App Store?

RE: Oko | Navigate and explore places using AI

2024-06-10 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I have no insights regarding when Oko will be available in which country. This
is why I included the entire email they sent including links to send them an
email, visit their website and contact them on their various social media
platforms. Just ask them directly.

Hi,

This app is not available in all regions and countries. Why? Can you give a
more specific answer when it will be available in the apple store for Serbia?

Thank you

Gradimir

Subject: Oko | Navigate and explore places using AI

Hi,

I don't recall coming across posts about this app. I had signed up for beta
testing it here in Canada back in February. At the time the only functionality
available was the pedesstrian signal information. Of course this may be less
important at intersections which have an audible signal which many here in
Canbada have, but even here the app can still be interesting especially if it's
a big intersection since the app can help you to go straight. In any case, I
tried it only here in my small town where all lights have audible signals and
it certainly worked well.
Now the app will be officially launched in Canada on July 1 and will hopefully
soon include maps and turn-by-turn directions which for now is only available
in the United States.
Unlike with main stream apps like Apple Maps or google Maps, it says these are
instructions specifically for the pedestrian and also include information about
crosswalks and so on. I always liked how in the old Sendero apps/devices you
would get information like whether an intersection was a 4-way or 3-way
intersection and while I didn't specifically read this, hopefully this app will
also include this or it can be suested as an improvement. Maybe it will give
Good Maps Outdoor a run for it's money although since both apps are free I
guess that isn't quite the right term to use. I am definitely curious about the
AI features other than the pedestrian crossing. Below is an email I received
from them a few days ao:

Hi there,
We have two incredible announcements to make today. First of all, Oko has won
the prestigious 2024 Apple Design Awards!  This award celebrates our
commitment to inclusivity and our mission to empower individuals with
disabilities. We couldn’t be more proud to be recognized for making a
difference.
Our mission at Oko is to reimagine how 1.4 billion people with mobility
disabilities navigate and explore places. Secondly, we are super proud to say
that we’ve taken a new step in that mission. We have launched Maps into Oko
across the United Sates, more regions coming soon. We can not wait to get your
feedback on our new Oko version. Visit our website to get familiar with the new
updates coming to Oko and watch the explainer video below.

https://www.ayes.ai/?utm_campaign=7b482b46-6ff1-486a-940b-1de5bbd228ae_source=so_medium=mail=4269ce05-52fa-4ce6-9dc3-3b19f7b2cbfa
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/H_710vt0-No

Below you can get familiar with the most important features and screens in Oko.
Homescreen
On Oko's main screen, you'll find a map with your location, a search bar to
enter your destination, an AI button to scan your environment.

AI Button screen
When clicking on the AI button on the homescreen it will open up the camera
screen and starts running our AI. The camera screen displays on top what the AI
is looking for, in the example below it is looking for a pedestrian signal.

Navigation using AI screen
When in navigation mode you'll get turn-by-turn instructions, as well as
intersection announcements like the following example: signalized intersection
ahead, cross Broadway to continue. If you're crossing a signalized intersection
you can simply raise your phone to activate the camera to look for pedestrian
signals. Instructions about your route are visualized at the top of the screen.
ETA updates and the possibility to end your route can be done at the bottom of
the screen.

RE: The K-Supreme Plus T Smart coffee maker

2024-06-10 Thread Cristóbal Muñoz
I'm mostly doing v60 pourovers, aerporess and espresso now, but the drip coffee
machine I have is a
Bonavita BV 1900TS This machine has a ten cup capacity. Can’t get any simpler.
Just one button on the side to turn on and off and if you want to do a
pre-infusion, you just hold the button down for a few extra seconds.
It’s just me and my wife, so we hardly used it. I believe they came out with a
smaller capacity machine (600 ML or so), but we didn’t get it as pourovers
became our thing.
It’s an older model, but I’m sure if they’re not selling it anymore, they’ll
probably have a newer version. This dripper is one of few that can get hot
enough (195º to 205º) to be SCA certified. Most coffee drippers and one cup
gadgets can’t get hot enough to properly extract all the goodness out of the
grounds.
No touch screens, capacitive buttons, multi-layered menus and no app.

If you are wanting a one-cup coffee maker, the Mainstay at Wal-Mart for around
$20 may serve you well; it does me.

All:

My coffee pot died. I’m sad.

So on hunt for coffee pot. Anyone know if the The K-Supreme Plus ™ Smart coffee
maker has physical buttons or is touch scree?

I know it can be controlled by Alexa, or Keurig app.

Has anyone tried the Keuirg app? Is it accessible?
