Re: Some major, and annoying bags, with iOS eight, and the iPhone 4 ass
Not sure if you have read any of the other comments or not, but when you are in the phone and it does that Long Beep , just double tap on the same number that you had tapped and it should stop On Sep 20, 2014, at 5:54 PM, Terri S princessterr...@gmail.com wrote: Hello everyone, I wanted to report some major bags I am having with iOS 8, and the iPhone 4 ass. I upgraded about two days ago, and it first I really liked it. I find the phone to respond a lot faster, and the speech seems to be a lot faster. However, I have noticed that sometimes voiceover will turn off, and then turn back on. It seems to do this a lot, especially when I am trying to delete mail. I don't understand why that is happening. Also, I am having a lot of trouble with the Facebook application. I can't seem to use it tomorrow.that was supposed to be, I can't seem to use it too well. Voiceover turns off a lot, and then back on. Also the application seems to learn a lot. Then I don't think it's the application itself. I think it has to do more with voiceover. But that is just my opinion. I did update the Facebook application, hoping that would help. But it did not. But the major problem I have noticed, that I really don't understand, is sometimes when I try to make a call. For instance, the other day I was calling the pharmacy. I had to place zero, to speak to someone. When I did this, the phone begin to beat. It would not stop. Nothing I did work.this happened about four times now. The only way to get the problem fixed, is to restart the phone. Has anyone else had any of these problems I have mentioned? Is there anything I can do to work with these issues? Or do I just have to wait for a new update? If that's the case, I sure hope they come up with a new update rather soon. Nobody wants to have these issues. I'm morning and I am glad I upgraded, but on the other hand I wish I would've waited. I wish I would've read more about the upgrade. But I rushed to do it, and I wish I hadn't done that now. Any help, or gotten suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you so very much! Terri Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. Re: IOS 8 Releasedusing voice messaging
Guess I was just a little disappointed, my sister just got a brand-new big android and she can message me with voice and texting and I was just thought that it would work the same. The fact that Apple is expanding on the capability of text messages with iMessage where you can send long messages and messages which contain audio is a bonus, but I doubt it will ever work between platforms. After all, Whats App messages only work between Whats App subscribers/users. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Amy Beatty Christenson Sent: Wednesday, September 17, 2014 3:08 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com; viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: IOS 8 Releasedusing voice messaging I figured it out, thanks that kind of sucks that you can't send a message to just anyone it has to be someone on a iPhone On Sep 17, 2014, at 5:01 PM, Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@live.ca wrote: No, you can only send a voice message to somebody who has iMessage, it doesn't have to be iOS 8 but of course they can only receive a voice message and not send one unless they have iOS 8. \You double tap and hold the button as long as you are recording. The first several devices were not at all accessible to the blind. Therefore, your argument does not hold up to what actually happens. The fact is, we are a very tiny group of people. At work, we have a water filtration system which has multiple settings. the system announces which type of water is coming out when it is started. It does not announce the setting when being set. We have a few pieces of tape on the face of the machine so I can find the start button. My microwave oven has no announcements whatsoever. We marked the touch panel with dots on the buttons, but I have no way of knowing for certain what I have pressed until it is finished. The same is true with our washing machine and dryer. It is unfair to those of us who are blind, but we are not a viable market for any mainstream product. Therefore, any bugs which effect VoiceOver only are not major or showstopers for over 99% of Apple's market And yet, Apple spends $35 per every iPhone sold for accessibility. This is what was stated in April at a shareholder meeting by Tim Cook. This is not an insignificant amount of money. Now that the beta cycle is complete, send in those bug reports. The minor VO only bugs can now be worked on more by Apple. Oh, and as to the question about why doesn't Apple wait until all minor bugs are fixed? Well, it is impossible to fix all bugs, so Apple would fall behind as a company if they stop innovating in today's world. The majority of those who buy products tend to purchase those products with the most innovative useful features. For example, we just purchased a robotic vacuum. We found a model which

I love TextDetective, but you have to remember make sure you hold the phone in landscape mode in order to scan your document. Re: a tap tapt see rant
I know the feeling, I have wasted about nine or 10 pictures on them telling me that I am taking a picture of a black container, and then they say it is a white strip of paper or a sticker and then they tell me that it says Dinner Dude, and then after a few more pictures I finally get the name of the dinner that is in the container area And I know that I am taking a picture of the sticker and it should be right on the riding On Feb 1, 2014, at 9:33 PM, Kay Malmquist kay.malmqu...@gmail.com wrote: I need to write this to the people at Tap Tap See, but right now I am anything but constructive. I am blind not dense. Next came back with numbers. Oops! wrong side so I flip it over. Then next I get, white paper with black text. No kidding! Next I finally am treated to the actual fortune. Now I had another one stuffed in my jacket pocket so I decided since I was in picture wasting mode I might as well try for more. First was fortune cookie paper, then text on white paper, then numbers, my bad again, turn it over. Then back to same stuff different side. Finally, the words I had been waiting to hear. all in all, 11 pictures wasted before outcome is achieved. I have paid for 100 pictures and feel this is a huge rip off. If I had a way to ask even though in this case I don't feel I should have to state the obvious, A lot of time and wasted effort could have been eliminated. Any thoughts anybody? Re: Question about app for being able to view links in Facebook newsfeed with VoiceOver
Sometimes before you open the message or click on the message, double tap and go down to more and copy link to post, and then open up Safari and paste it in the browser and it will most likely open up where it shows the Facebook page but down below is a link and you can click it, now sometimes you have to actually go into the Facebook message on your Facebook app and go to action and find where it says post link or copy lake or something like that and then you do the same thing on Safari On Jan 6, 2014, at 10:47 AM, Rory Smith rory...@gmail.com wrote: That is pretty much the way it is, if anybody else has a good suggestion of how to get around facebook's consistantly non accessible apps and web pages, I'd love to hear it.
