Re: the whatsapp group is running for all apple blind users

2015-10-08 Thread Ana Fedrigo

Hi Cris!

Please check if you can find the F123 Access menu on the menu bar, to the
right of the "Edit" menu. The fastest way to open the F123 Access menu is
pressing Alt+3, but you can also get there with any other command you
normally use to get to the menu bar.

If the menu is there, then we know the installation was successful.

If you do not find the F123 Access menu, it could be because you have
"Private Browsing" turned on. Whenever "Private Browsing" is on, all
extensions are automatically turned off, including F123 Access. This can
also happen if you have Firefox configured to never remember history.

Now you can use WhatsApp with your computer by visiting the WhatsApp
website. The login process will require your smartphone where you´ll be
asked to scan a QR code, and we recommend that it be accessing the web
through a WiFi connection.

The web version of WhatsApp is not accessible to screen readers. Once that
page is reformatted by F123 Access you will find numerous headers and
button labels placed there for your convenience. For example, level 2
headers, accessible on most screenreaders by pressing 2 or Shift+2, will
show you the names of your contacts and groups.

When inside a conversation, level 4 headers will show you messages you have
received, and level 5 headers the messages you have sent. Of course, should
you wish to read all of them in sequence, you may simply use H and Shift+H
in most screenreaders. Finally, you may use the up and down arrow keys if
you need to hear all the details such as the date and time of each message.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you have any difficulties.

You may also get quicker responses and tips from other users by joining our
e-mail list. To join, please send an email to:

Thank you,
Ana

2015-10-08 Thread Ana Fedrigo
Hi Ming,

Yes Chris is right. F 123 Access reformats web pages to make them more
accessible and usable. The technology is being demonstrated on WhatsApp on
the web, which is inaccessible without it.

To give it a try, you can visit the following page and sign-up:

We also have an English discussion group for the exchange of ideas,
suggestions, and questions at f123-access-english+subscr...@googlegroups.com.

We would love to have your feedback, so give it try.

2015-10-05 Thread Ana Fedrigo
Hi Brian!

Thanks for your interest. We have a member of the team who is based in the
US, but he is the only one that does not use WhatsApp, and we would like
the English group to have a US number. Just like we have an Italian group
with an Italian phone number and a Brazilian group is a local number as
well.

Any chance you could create the group and make me an administrator as well.
That way you need not worry with handling requests on your own, but at
least we could have a US number for the group.

You could call it:
F123 Access in English

or whatever you like.

Re: the whatsapp group is running for all apple blind users

2015-09-30 Thread Ana Fedrigo
Hi Barbara,

Thanks for the notice, I read here that the group is from last year. I am
sorry to hear it has closed. Do you know of any other group interested in
WhatsApp? Thanks for the news anyway :)

Regards,

Ana

Re: the whatsapp group is running for all apple blind users

2015-09-29 Thread Ana Fedrigo
Hi Ramy and all,

The idea of a WhatsApp group is great! I am currently working with
assistive technology and I thought you might be interested on trying the
new software our team is launching to improve web accessibility for the
blind.

We are calling our software F123 Access. Our software is able to reformat
web pages to make them more accessible and convenient for persons who are
blind and use screen-readers. F123 Access is currently available as a
Mozilla Firefox extension and shows its capabilities by reformatting the
web version of WhatsApp. We would love to know what you think.

To give it a try, please visit the following page and sign-up:
https://F123Access.com/intro_en

There´s also a general discussion mailing list for the F123 Access
software, subscribe at: f123-access-english+subscr...@googlegroups.com

Best regards and thank you,

Ana Fedrigo
