Re: Pandora Question

Hi Tom,

I first noticed the artist information in Pandora with the braille display.

I could usually read all of the information on the braille sense you too, but I
also have problems reading with voiceover speech.
Wish it were different,
Antonio

blurb continuously with a two-finger flick down. Seems I have to scroll to
the next screen to finish it, which is rather annoying. Has anybody noticed
this, or am I doing something wrong?

Sieghard,

Thank you for your message. I thought I would have to unload and re-download
many of my apps, but apparently I was just not being patient enough with the
update process.

While the updates were not running on Wi-Fi, I plugged my phone in, and many of
my ass now work. I haven't checked them all, but I am happy for now.

Thanks much,

Normally if an update doesn't install double tapping on the app will restart

If it goes back to Waiting it means the update process has not completed.

Re: Question about taptapsee on myy iphone 4 s

2013-09-23 Thread Antonio M. Guimaraes Jr.
The TapTap See app sends your picture to a human being on the cloud.

Your product box is probably too small to be properly identified.

You can only get descriptions of general things like color one is wearing, and
general written description of the picture. You cannot have a chance to ask
details about the image.

By the way, is VizWiz still available?

Emailing groups from the iPhone

2013-09-07 Thread Antonio M. Guimaraes Jr.
Hello all,

I don't know if this has been discussed on this list, but I found a great new
app that lets you email groups from your iPhone. As far as I know, you can do
this natively from your Mac, but not on the iOS device.

The app is called mailshot pro, and here are instructions I've written on how
to use it once you install it.

Open the app, and follow these steps:

1) Tap home, then start, then create a newMailShot group.

2) type the name of your group. Bluetooth keyboards may not work for this
purpose, so use the virtual keyboard on your screen.

3) Tap done at the bottom right of your screen.

4) Tap add a contact to your list.

5) select the contact from your contact list which appears.

6) Repeat steps four and five as many times as necessary to add all members
to your group.

7) Tap update. You will be notified that entries have been updated to your
address book. Tap ok.

A contact has been created in your contacts list with the name you gave your
groups, and containing email addresses for that group.

you may add and remove additional members to your groups by tapping it, then
tapping edit.

Follow the appropriate prompts to edit, add, remove members and so on. Finish
your edit by tapping the update button.

To send a mail message simply open mail, and add the contacts entry for your
group in the to, BCC, or CC field.

That's all for now.

Enjoy.

Antonio

There's probably another app to do what you want, though.

That is my understanding of how the process would work as they are trying to

Re: A Heytell Question

2012-11-20 Thread Antonio M. Guimaraes Jr.
One way to accept people on HeyTell is to double tap on a text message that the
person inviting you will send to you.

I haven't had to do this in any other way, so I don't remember how to go about
it.
I suspect that just following prompts should get you there.

I believe you double tap and hold and then do a left right left gesture, but
I am not sure, I haven’t done it in a while.

 Subject: A Heytell Question

 Hi,
I added some contacts to my heytell and address book.
I added them incorrectly though and need to delete them. I went into the
address book on my iPod touch and deleted them but now can’t seem to delete
 them from heytell.
I double tap the more button next to each person’s contact and I hear
selected but there’s no delete button.
 How do I fix this?

Re: new braille display and bluetooth keyboard commands in iOS 6

2012-11-20 Thread Antonio M. Guimaraes Jr.
Woody,

You are right about the first command, VO-shift-m.
This will double tap and hold the button. I tried it on HeyTel.
I don't see a way to release the button though.

I can't confirm the braille display question.

 Hi,

As I understand it, there's a new Bluetooth keyboard command in iOS 6 -
VO+Shift+M for double-tap and hold. And there's a new braille display command
 - Space with I to bring up the Item Chooser. First, am I correct about these,
and second, does anyone know of any other new commands? I'm writing a
supplement to the iPhone book Dean Martineau and I wrote, and I want my info
on this topic to be up to date. Is it possible to create any new special
characters, such as vowels with macrons?

Thanks so much for any help with this.

 Best,

2012-11-20 Thread Antonio M. Guimaraes Jr.
Hello,
I checked the braille display command i-chord and it brings up the item chooser
as expected.
You now press the home button as usual to get out of it.
