Re: Nespresso machines

I would be interested in knowing the model of that Keurig as well. I have a coffee maker that makes ice coffee, but I would like to know of another machine because I’ve had this one for a long time and don’t know how long it will continue to last.Sent from my iPhoneOn Sep 2, 2024, at 8:51 PM, Tali Sarnetzky wrote:Hi.There is a Keurig machine which is easy to use. I don't remember the model, but I can check it for you. My friend has it and I used it myself when I visited. There are five sizes of drinks, the possibility to make cold drinks, and for coffee, you can use strong or not. No need for an app, although if you are not sure of something, you can call a volunteer on Be My Eyes. The digital screen is large and easy to see.The only thing with Keurig is that every drink they make, from coffee to tea and apple cider, looks the same. So your friend will have to separate or label them.Nespresso machines are usually simple to use. You can buy a simple one, which usually has only two buttons on the top: short and long. They make coffees and sometimes flavoured coffees, but nothing else.Hope this helps. Cheers,Tali On Tue, Sep 3, 2024 at 4:44 AM Jen . wrote:Hi I hope this is allowed to ask, but if not, my apologies.
A friend of mine who is totally blind is interested in an espresso machine I am interested in getting one for her as a birthday present, but I know nothing about them. I've read there are Wi-Fi machines and ones that do not run on Wi-Fi but other than that, have no idea, hoping someone in this group can shed some light for me. What are the differences between these machines and a Keurig? Which models are the best and why and would there be a particular model that would be easiest to operate if you have no vision? Also did a search and found out there is an app. Is it accessible or not? Sorry for all the questions. I am assuming Nespresso machines just make coffee or do they make other drinks as well?
Thanks.

Re: question about air tags

2024-08-21 Thread 'Candie Stiles' via VIPhone
I thought about getting an AirTag to put in my suitcase when I travel by plane. The one thing I wasn’t sure of though is if I could hear the AirTag when I tapped my phone to make it play a sound. When your suitcase is going around on the conveyor belt at the airport, are you able to hear the AirTag so you can locate your suitcase on your own? Sent from my iPhoneOn Aug 18, 2024, at 3:00 PM, Sieghard Weitzel wrote:

You won't hear the sound anyways if there is any sort of noise. Even if it's sitting openly on a table outside you wouldn't hear it if you were 50 feet away.
As for the tracking it works just fine inside the suitecase.

I am not sure how to answer your question. I imagine it difficult to work. This device is too tiny and its antenna may not pick up the signals inside a suitcase. Also if you are looking for your item, you may not be able to hear the sound
if it is hidden inside a suitcase or backpack.

Yes you have to activate each of them individually. You also need to buy each of them a holder with a ring to be able to attach to your suitcases or the items you need to track. What you get is just the tag itself which is a tiny little

I would be extremely interested infinding this information out as well. I use the elliptical in the gym where I live, but it’s a touchscreen, and I have a difficult time with the settings. I especially would like to change the resistance to make the workout more of a challenge, but I am not able to do this with the elliptical’s they have here.Sent from my iPhoneOn Jan 16, 2023, at 3:51 PM, Dan wrote:

Hi all,

I normally walk our road for exercise.
However, far too many homes have been built over the past few
years and people are driving much too fast on our road for it to
be safe any longer. I have started using an old elliptical we
have had for several years. It has no bluetooth interface and
is starting to have some other issues mechanically.

Do any of you know of any elliptical
equipment that has accessible bluetooth apps? My wife would
like us to get something like this so I can keep track of my
accomplishments independently.

Thanks for any info.

Re: Images in Facebook Messenger.

2019-12-23 Thread 'Candie Stiles' via VIPhone
Have you tried double tapping and holding on the image? Usually this brings up
a dialogue box with the option to save the image. When you double tap on save,
a list of apps will appear and you can double tap on the one you want to
recognize the image.

When you get to the last heading you want to start flicking right until you get

I think the key is to hold the phone farther away from the document then you
think. There have been times when I hold the phone closer, about 4 to 6 inches

get a much better scan.

inconsistent. Sometimes the results are good, though almost never
perfect. Other times they are terrible. The inconsistency can happen even
when the pictures are almost identical. We have tried this on many, many
documents. For reference: an iPhone 7 running iOS 11.4.

I would love to hear contrary testimonials. I have emailed this list in
the past with similar issues, and the response has been mostly along the
lines of "you must not be positioning correctly". But at this point I
havehave had many sighted people verify that in fact I (and they) are
positioning the camera correctly with bad results.

Re: Reading by Line

I have this same problem and it makes reading by line very cumbersome. You're
right this has been going on for a long time and I'm surprised other people
haven't brought it up. If there is a solution I would love to know about it as

I downloaded this app so I could check it out and it seems to work OK for me. I
got a sample of a book and it’s similar to the Kindle. You can swipe down with
two fingers to read the text, and you can tap on the screen twice to bring up
the menu.

double tapping again with one finger. Maybe if I double tap with two fingers
that will work.

Re: iDentifi

2016-11-30 Thread Candie Stiles
When I have gotten results they have been good, but it takes a while for them
to come up. It would also be helpful if the results that were spoken were also
written on the screen so if we didn't hear everything the first time or wanted
to review them we could.

I downloaded this app and tried using it and haven't been able to get any
descriptions of the pictures I take. I hear the speech in the app say loading,

Re: facebook with VO not always showing all posts

Sometimes I find I have to go to the top of the page and do a three finger
swipe down to refresh everything. Also, my posts in the newsfeed 10 to be in
random order. For example, one might be from three hours ago, the one after it
might be from five hours ago, and the one after that might be from 15 minutes
ago. It's very strange.

I have noticed the exact same thing. I have tried looking for another method of
changing the reading rate and I haven't been able to find anything. If anyone
has a suggestion or a way of doing this please let us know. Thank you.

Re: Twitter apps

I find the native Twitter app to be usable with no problems. I can easily
