I am using South African Siri voice 2 and am experiencing the same

Re: Phone Not Coming On

2023-01-31 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Hello Carla

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. To do the reset you
press the volume up button followed by volume down and then hold the
power button in for a few seconds. This should solve your problem.

Hope this helps.

Chantal

You can use Overcast for free or subscribe. I think the free version
has ads but as a blind person they don't bother me. I think the ads
might just pop up on the screen but it does not affect whatever I am
doing with it.

It's just strange how I could hear VoiceOver on the Siri screen but
not on the home screen.

Thank you again.

Factory Reset

2019-09-30 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Good afternoon All

I am sitting with an iPhone SE that's VoiceOver does not want to work
on the home screens or in apps.

The strange thing is that VoiceOver works when I receive or make calls
and when I'm on the Siri screen.

I have done a hard reset, turned my phone off and on, numberous times,
even tried turning VoiceOver off and on after a call. Nothing works.
Apple accessibly say they have not heard of this and cannot duplicate
so they have no suggestions for me.

So I think I will try a factory reset.

How do I do this and then restore the phone to the way it was before
the Voice stopped working?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Re: Voiceover, all system sounds an d vibrations stop after making many phone calls

2019-09-30 Thread Chantal Ferreira
The same thing has happened to me. But the suggestions of phoning my
phone or turning it off and on has not helped.

The strange thing is that I can bring up Siri and get the feedback and
then when I'm on the Siri screen VoiceOver works. But the minute I go
back to the home screen, nothing.

I have no idea what else to do.

Any other suggestions.

Kind regards

Re: Deleting podcasts from podcast app

2018-10-16 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Hi Judy

To delete a listened to podcast there are a few ways.

1. If you are in the mini player section, swipe right until you find
the "More button". Double tap on it and swipe right until you find
the "Remove" button. Double tap on this and follow the instructions.

2. If you are in the episode section, swipe up on the "Play" button.
This will give you a "More button". Swipe right until you here
"Remove".

3. If you are in the podcast feed with the list of episodes, you go to
the one you want to delete, double tap and hold with one finger until
you hear the active tone and then swipe right to hear "Remove
podcast".

4. Finally, you can adjust in settings after what period of time the
played podcast will automatically be deleted from your device.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Chantal

Re: unsubscribing podcasts

2018-10-16 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Hi Max

In order to be able to unsubscribe from a podcast feed in the native
podcast app you do the following.

1. You first need to open the particular podcast feed.

2. Swipe write until you here "play".

3. Swipe up on play and you should here "More".

 4. Double tap on "More" and swipe right until you here "Unsubscribe".

5. Double tap on "Unsubscribe".

6. You might then still have to delete it from your podcast feed
because it will still be there but it won't download new podcasts. To
check if it's still in your feed you have to go to the last subscribed
feed you have and it will then be there.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Chantal

Re: Unsubscribing podcasts

2017-10-17 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Good morning Max

To unsubscribe from a podcast you do the following.

First you must go into the podcast and find the settings button. It is
close to the top. Swipe around until you find the button that says
"Subscribed, switch button on". You then double tap on this button.
You will then be unsubscribed. You then need to find the done button
to leave the settings.

The final thing you need to do is to go to the end of all your podcast
feeds to the heading that says "Not subscribed" and find the podcast
you unsubscribed from and delete it by swiping up and the phone will
say delete. You then double tap and you are done. .

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Chantal

Hi Chris

In terms of the guess button, it will only appear once you have
selected your first group of letters.

As to your other question about it saying dimmed, I've never seen
that. Perhaps you should try and close the app in the app switcher and
then opening it again.

Re: Seven little words help

2017-09-18 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Goodmorning Chris

Once you have selected all the letter groups you want you need to find
the button called guess. You double tap it and that will enter your
word. This button is in-between the 7 clues and the letter choices you
get. There is also a clear button if you make a mistake and you want
to start over.

Hope this helps you. Happy playing.

Kind regards

Chantal

Re: Accessible radio app for UK residents?

2017-08-02 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Good morning

Here are 2 options for you to try. TuneIn Radio or the iPlayer radio app.

TuneIn has both a free and paid version but the free version works
well. You can then listen to stations from around the world.

The iPlayer radio app is only the BBC channels but I don't know if it
has all of them.

Hope this helps.

 Kind regards

Re: volume of ringtones

2017-07-21 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Good afternoon Janet

In order to stop your phone's tone volume from changing with the
volume button do the following.

Go to settings and look for sounds. In sounds find the heading that
says "Ringer and alerts". There Is then an option that says" Change
with volume buttons". Double tap to turn this option off.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Chantal

Re: Message Effects do Work, here's how!

2016-09-16 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Chris, just for interest, have you been able to get a text that has
invisible ink to read. I tried it yesterday but I can't get the hidden
text to be read.

Kind regards

Chantal

Re: tunein radio favorites question

2016-07-27 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Good morning Don

Go to the My Profile option. Then swipe through the list of your
stations until you find the one you want to remove. You then need to
double tap the station and it will start playing.

Then swipe until you see the word "Options" and double tap on that.

Now you need to find the option called "View Profile" and double tap on that.

Finally, swipe until you find the option that says "Favourite" and
double tap on that.

You will now no longer have that station in your favourites.

Hope that helps.

Re: Problem with Tunein

2016-05-20 Thread Chantal Ferreira
Good morning All

In the favourites there is a more button which you need to double tap
to see the full list of your favourites.

I have a different problem with the app, certain programmes that I
follow aren't updated. It will tell me when the programme is on but
the played episodes do not appear afterwards. It's also not all the
shows that this problem happens with.

Kind regards

Chantal
