Thanks for the info. Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks, anyway.

Hi. On the subject of Ootunes, anyone know how to get those recordings, via
the PC, perhaps? Can I do it with Phone Disk or similar? If so, where will I
find the files, please? Someone wants a program I recorded the other day,
but I haven't worked out how to get it for them yet.
Thanks.

Ootunes can do what it does because it is simply dumping the data stream it
is receiving over the Internet to a file. It isn't possible to record
directly from the iPhone's audio output, because the hardware isn't capable
of doing so.

Hi FI;
I don't think this is the type of recording I had in mind.
Let me explain further.
The ootunes app records what it hears automatically.
I don't believe it uses a mic because the recording quality is too good.
In other words I would like to record music that is being played on my
iPhone 4S.
I hope my explanation was precise.

Hi Anthony. Just be aware that you need something like a Tascam IM2 or
a Fostex AR4I to get the phone to record in stereo, as it only has a
mono microphone. They are both fantastic, but I really recommend the
Fostex, although it is a bit big, so it depends what your priorities are.
The Tascam is good because it will also work with an iPad. Also, the
Fostex will only work with the iPhone 4 and 4s, because it cradles the
phone, or iPod Touch. My Dad has an iPhone 3gs and we tried to fit it
in, but it was too big. Just mentioning this, as not sure which iPhone
you have, plus might be useful for others to know.
Not sure if earlier iPod Touches fit in the Fostex or not, as both
mine are quite new. Yes ... I said both!!!

Hi Anthony,
List Recorder settings allow for high quality recording up to CD quality.
I would expect your results would only be limited by the iPhone and
other hardware. . List Recorder is set up to allow stereo recording.
I suspect others could comment better on your question as I have
only
used the recorder for spoken sounds.

Hi Fonarak
In List Recorder Full version, the recording times do not have a limit.
Only your Device memory will limit the size.
Yes, List Recorder lets you send the recording by email as a
attachment.
Currently List Recorder does not have editing functions. I say
currently because the app developer is constantly updating and
improving the app. With each new version large feature improvements
happen.
And, the app is being strongly supported and user feature requests
are
being worked on!

Cool! Can I edit with it as well? Would be great to be able to

You're supposed to be able to do that with the memo recorder, but
I've not
managed to make that work.
Is there a time limit on files? Can I also E-mail them as attachments?
Thanks for the info.

Hello Fi,
List Recorder has many different recording formats to select from.
I use M4a but there is wav, and several others.
You can easily rename the recordings. You can also utilize a very
strong organizational structure.
The app is designed for the visually
