RE: Apple Watch 10 strap sizes question?
Richard, I think you have the decimal point in the wrong place. There are 2.54 centimeters to an inch, not 25.4, which is more than a foot. Graham Stoodley -Original Message- From: 'Richard Turner' via VIPhone Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2024 2:51 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Apple Watch 10 strap sizes question? Malcolm, There are some sizing guidelines out there that suggest using a cloth measuring tape, like what a taylor would use, or a piece of string, wrapped around your wrist so it fits snuggly so the watch will maintain contact with your wrist, then measure the length of the string, or if a cloth measuring tape, it will show you. Obviously, this takes sighted assistance. Then, if you measure in inches, you will need to convert to centimeters. 25.4 centimeters per inch. Apple used to have a pdf you could download and print out, then wrap it around your wrist to get the measurement. And, I gather the bands match the size of the watch so you need to know what size the watch is, of course. I understand the series 10 have a new connection system so old bands won't work. RE: Voiceover voicing “USD” after every stock price on the stock app… Following my update from 15.1 to 15.2
Alan, do follow Dennis's suggestion to elimninate the currency reference you dislike, but I suggest the voiceOver techs at Apple were not as unthinking as you say. I am in Canada and invest in local and U.S. stocks. Some of those stocks are interlisted in Canada and on the NYSE or Nasdaq, and their dollar values differ because of the different currency values. So it's sometimes good to know that the quote I am getting is in U.S. dollars to avoid the heart attack of thinking my Canadian dollar stock has fallen so precipitously in value. And it's comforting to know that Apple thinks outside the U.S. for its customers. Apple maps not speaking or giving haptic feedback since upgrading to IOS 11
Hi, Since updating my iPhone7 to IOS11 when I tell Blindsquare to plot a route using Apple maps, I no longer get turn by turn voice prompts. The Maps app opens showing the planned route, I tap walking directions then double tap on go. At that point I used to get Apple maps saying something like starting walking directions to xxx. As I walked along, I also got haptic feedback when approaching a turn through my watch. Now all that happens is I hear blindsquare updating my location information and telling me how far to my destination. Has anyone else come across this issue and better still found a solution? Many thanks for any help/advice offered. Warm regards Graham -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. Hi, What a great idea. I'm no developer but one quick way might bde to have the taps in a morse code number pattern so all you'd need to learn are the ten different number rhythms so for 10-15 you'd have one tap slight gap followed by four evenly spaced taps, a slight gap to the five evenly spaced taps for the zero, again the one tap with slight gap to four evenly spaced taps for 1 andn five quick taps for the 5. Re: App that announces elapsed time
Hi, When you open the App, at the top left is the settings button. In there you can choose whether you want a male or female voice, determine how often you need spoken announcements whether you want the timer to count up once its counted down, to repeat the count down or just finish after it has counted down. The done button is situated towards the bottom left of the screen. On the main screen when you open the App, near the left edge about a quarter way down the screen is a button which increases the count down or count up time by one minute. Below this is the decrease button. On the righthand side on the same level are the increase and decrease by one second buttons. Towards the bottom of the screen is the start count down button. If you want to stop the timer towards the bottom of the screen is a slider, double tap and hold this and slide quickly to the right after hearing three or so quick tones. On the right you will then have a button that says resume or reset timer. I hope this is of some use. When I ran on the treadmill I used bluetooth earphones started my music, then paused it, went in to the timer and started it counting down then double tapped the screen so I could listen to my music. The count down voice is still audible. Warm regards Graham On 17 Mar 2015, at 10:54, Kimber Gardner wrote: > It looks like audible timer is just what I want. Over the air podcast syncing
Hi,, I have two podcast players Overcast and Downcast. if I play a podcast in Overcast on my iPhone while travelling to and from work, I can pick up where I left off on my iPad when I get home. However for what ever reason this doesn't work the other way round i.e I listen to half a podcast at home on the iPad but when on the train with my iPhone I'm put back to the beginning. The odd thing is, this happens the other way round in Downcast, Has anyone else had this issue? if so, how did you resolve it? Ipad Mini 2 app store issues
Hi, Last week I purchased an iPad Mini 64gb the 2nd generation version. It came running IOS7.1.1. I restored this from my backup which was for the iPad3 full size and all went well. However when I tried using the app store looking for apps such as Whats App I got no returns. Chris on here mentioned this was a bug nd to upgrade to IOS8.1 which I have now done. Things have improved a little, for example when I search for KNFB Reader the Bleo Reader shows up but not KNFB reader. Whats App returns apps associated with Whats App but not the actual main app. I've changed the search to look for iPhone apps only again with no joy. Has anyone any ideas? Sorry this has been a longish post but I wanted to give as full account as possible as to what is happening. Adding songs to playlists in iTunes on the Mac
Hi, Since updating to iTunes 11, I've had real problems adding songs to a playlist. In Itunes10, I used to go to music in my source list, find the song that I wanted to add, press vo shift M which brought up a popup menu and from there, type a which took you to add to playlist. You'd then right arrow and then arrow down to the playlist you wanted to add the song to, press vo space or enter and bingo, your song was added. Since iTunes 11, the only sure way I've found to do this is to find the song, press command c, go across to my source list and find the playlist I want to add the song to, vo right to the songs list and press command v. Has anyone had sim problems or is there something I'm missing since the update? Kind regards Graham -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. Request Advice On Syncing Apps With iTunes 11 and iPhone5
Before the iPhone 5 came to me for Christmas, I had acquired several apps for my iPod Touch 4. After the update to iTunes 11, the iPod will sync apps, but I can't figure out how to get the music and apps in my iTunes library into my iPhone 5. Can any one offer helpful suggestions to make syncing work without having to re-download all the apps to iPhone 5? Is there an audible timer on the iPod nano
Hi, Thanks for getting back to me on this.so if I'm running on a treadmill listening to my music it will keep me updated on my elapsed time similar to what audible timer does on my iPhone? Navigating in large emails
Hi, I receive my email from this group and the Macvissionaries group as digest mail. In Windows using Outlook2010 if I click on a link in the topic list at the top I go direcct to the message I'm interested in. On the Iphone and Ipad if you double click twice on the link you also go to the content of the message. My question is how can you quickly get bacck to the top of the email where the links to the various messages are located? Doing a four finger tap at the top of the screen doesn't work as this takes me to the first element of the screen usually the back button or the inbox etc. I can do a three finger swipe which will move me one pagee at a time, sometimes the item chooser works when you bring it up and look for topic. I just wonderred if there was a better solutionn I'd not thought of? Kind regards Graham Sent from my iPad -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
