Force return with a Braille display

If you press dots 7 and whatever the option key is plus enter, that should
force a return. That is how you do it with a Bluetooth keyboard is option enter.

HI Anna,
My client nor I are running the betas, so something is fishy somewhere.
I think I will simply wait until 12.1.1 or whatever they are going to call it
comes out and hope that by yours and others alerting them, it gets fixed.

Thanks,
Richard

Hi everyone,

I have been running a beta on my phone for quite a while, and shortcuts worked
fine until I tried to use them last Friday, at which point I had the same
problem as you. I found that I had the same problem with my iPad that was
running the beta, but not with my 5s which wasn't. So I assumed it was a beta
issue until I heard from you. I called Apple Accessibility, and the guy I spoke
with was great. He had me try Siri with Wi-Fi turned off and then reset network
settings. None of that helped. He also tried accessing a shortcut with Siri on
his device with VoiceOver off and with VoiceOver on, and everything worked
normally both times. So he asked me to roll a device back to iOS 12.1. I did
that with my iPad, and Siri shortcuts worked normally. I would suggest calling
Apple Accessibility and hoping you won't get the person Richard got. Most
people there should be able to walk you through sending in the diagnostic
information they need to figure out what's going on. I'm also going to report
it as a beta bug and will mention that I know of people running iOS 12.1 who
are having the problem.

Best,
Anna

So, since both iOS 12.1 and the app were updated longer ago than

would encourage everyone to write Apple since clearly, they are clueless
that something has gone very wrong.

You have to open Walkie Talkie on the watch then add a contact rom there.
Double tap on add contact and a list of them will come up.

Hi,

I have a small table on a webpage I am using to learn how to effectively use
safari for my work.

I had heard that there should be a way to enable voiceover to read the row and
column headers as I navigate the cells in a table, but so far VO is not reading
the headers just the cell contents.

I went into settings -> general -> accessibility -> VoiceOver -> rotor and
enabled the vertical navigation.

Then when on the webpage with the table, I set the rotor to vertical
navigation, but no matter how I flick I am not getting the headers read.

Looking at the same table with jaws jaws will read the collumn and row headers
just fine when using the table navigation keys.

I believe Voice control is only available in U.S. English right now. Maybe
setting your region to U.S. would fix the problem. Of course, doing that might

RE: Is there a way to reverse the panning buttons on the Focus display and iOS?

2019-09-29 Thread Jennie
Hi Kevin,

Yes there is, but you have to o into settings, accessibility, VoiceOver,
Braille. Now, find your Braille display and double tap on more info. Now,
double tap on commands. Now double tap on Braille. Now double tap on pan left
or pan right. You will have to assign keys to these commands. You do this by
pressing the left panning button for the right one to work and vice versa. It
will say something like the command is already in use but assign it anyway.
This is how you change it.

Hi.

I was curious if there's a way to reverse the panning buttons for the FOCUS
display? I went into the braille settings, and all I'm finding is how to change
the braille keys. I'd rather use the actual buttons rather than those. How do I
do what I want8

Thanks in advancedd

You have to buy the upgrade in order to use it with anything. The free

Hold the iPod between the palms of your hands just where your fingers join
your hands. You want the home button to the right. Make sure that the
screen is facing away from your body.

The first, second and third fingers of your left hand are on the left; of
the iPod, the first, second and third fingers of your right hand are on the
right just past the home button. Your fingers are opposite each other. They
recommend you have a case because the iPod itself is very slippery.

Hope this helps.

Hi, check your hard drive space available. Also, you might want to
delete older backups from iTunes. Press Control comma to go to
preferences and then go to device section. You can see the backups along
with their dates. Arrow to one and tab to delete and press space to get
rid of it. I usually go and clean this out once a month and only keep
the last 2 backups, assuming nothing major bad happened, which it
usually doesn't.

Hi, if it's only showing your backups and she's never backed up before, then
what you say makes sense. . So, just check to see how much space you
have in your drive in general, but I still would recommend you delete older
backups from your own backups.
Hope that helps.

I have an attachment which was, apparently, typed on Word 2010. I double
tapped the attachment and it will not open. I can read the name of the
attachment and it has a .docx suffix. I feel sure I cannot be the first to
come across this matter and look forward to any advice.

RE: Touch typing questions

The way standard typing works, is that you double tap on a letter to input
it. With touch typing, you slide your finger around to the letter you want,
then lift your finger.

Hi, Rose.
You might increase that to three if you explain how standard typing works.
I'd like to try doing it. Do you have a screen protector like the one

We are probably the only two.

I don't send e-mail on my phone, it has an e-mail account that only a couple
of people know about, I use it to send messages from work where I need to
enter contact info etc. If I were not working where I had to get 100% of my
attention to what I am doing I might feel differently but as of this writing
I don't do Facebook, Twitter or receive a ton of e-mail on my phone, and I
discourage texting during my working hours. It does not stop my husband or
one friend, unfortunately and I have near the end of a day when I am
involved in a report I need to finish before I leave turned off the phone
completely but I would rather not do that, I want a phone when I am at work,
mostly to stay connected with my husband who has been a frequent flyer in
the hospital. I don't want a lot of messages, beeps, and other sounds
interrupting me during those hours.

I could mess with do not disturb, I suppose but, it is easier not to do
those accounts and to keep my e-mail on the phone to a minimum since I don't
like typing on the keyboard all that much even after nearly two years, I
can, of course, but would rather do most of my communicating on my computer.

Since updating to the latest version of IOS, I now get duplicate
announcements of the same message. Here's a description of what's happening:

My phone is locked, and when a message comes in, VoiceOver announces the

Then, a few minutes later, the same thing repeats.

I'm wondering how to stop this.

This happens just with messages and not with other types of notifications.

RE: Portable Bluetooth keyboard

2013-02-16 Thread Jennie Facer
I just ordered the Logitech 810 model. I probably should have gotten the
811, but it just won't work on a mac I guess. I also have a couple others,
but the one verbatim isn't very durable.

Re: Bluetooth Keyboard recommenation needed

2013-02-21 Thread Jennie Facer
I have three keyboards that I use. I have the Logitech 810 model that I use at
home, and then the Verbatim keyboard and the keyboard sold by speed dots for
travel. I love all of these keyboards. I've heard a couple people say that the
Verbatim isn't that durable, but if you put it back in its case, you should
have no problems. It is the only folding one I have.

Hope this helps,

Do you like the landscape orientation? I'll try your suggestion as soon as I

Subject: A Fleksy orientation question

Hello Cher,

Fleksy supports both orientations. Here are some tips on how to type in
Landscape:

1. If your iPhone is locked in portrait, unlock it, start Fleksy and just
flip your phone landscape. Fleksy will follow along. The keyboard will
populate the bottom half of the screen and span the whole width.

2. If you iPhone is locked in portrait and you want to keep it that way, but
you still want to type in landscape with Fleksy: Head to the Settings app
and find Fleksy on the list. Choose the Lock Orientation option and select
Landscape Left or Landscape Right, according to your preference(Right or
Left refer to were the home button will be after the lock takes place).
Press the home button to exit the Settings and press the home button twice
to bring up the App Switcher. Find Fleksy and force quit it. Dismiss the App
Switcher and open Fleksy from your home screen. Fleksy will be in Landscape,
with the home button being to the right or left, according to your choice
before.

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

Bill

Hummmnkmnmnm,... if you not got them as a contact, you're not going to be
able to add them from contacts.

You can't add them as a contact from there either, you do that separately,
or wait until they reply, you can add a contact from a reply.

dear all. How do you write "don't" or other words with apostrophe sign such
as "what's that?"

Secondly, What is the best way of sending emails using this program? I once
tried by typing some text and choosing email from the menu. What I could
understand was that the text I typed in flexie was put in the subject line.
In the box for message body, I could hear "type with Flexy" but did not know
how to use that feature. So your suggestions for using this program for
sending emails are required.

With regards and appreciation for responses.

Hello all,
I was wondering about how to indicate punctuation when dictating with serri

matter of voice inflection or does one actually need to say question? If so,
how does one make sure that the word question or comma or whatever the mark

Re: Automated phone calls on the IPhone

2013-03-03 Thread Jennie Facer
Hi Debbie,

When the phone rings, there is a slide to answer button in the lower left
corner of the screen. If you first touch that button then answer it with a
one-finger double tap, the keypad will come up when you take your phone away
from your ear.

Hope this helps,

To change typing modes, go to an edit field. I usually just press home from the

JoJo,

When you create your reminder, there is a super reminder button you want to
press. Then you want todouble tap on repeat. Next flick down, and there is a
picker item that allows you to choose how many days you want to be reminded. I
hope this makes sense. If not, feel free to write me back.

Re: searching for and selecting/copying text

2013-03-09 Thread Jennie Facer
I just wanted to add a couple things here. You can select, copy, and paste text
from Safari for sure. Here, you make sure your roter is on characters, words,
or lines depending on what you want to select. Then put focus on the text you
want selected. Here is the hard part. You doulbe tap and hold until you hear
the tri tone. Now you have to use the pinch gesture to select this text.
Pinching apart selects, and pinching together unselects text. Garth did an
awesome podcast on www.iblindtech.com

Check it out.

This weeks episode is a look at Apples BT Keyboard. I give a physical

I think I have noticed a not issue with the VO focus in email lis since
updating to IOS 6. in 5.1, once you had read an email, activating the "back"
button would close the open msg and return VO focus to that message in the
list of mails. Im now seeing that when you close a message by activating the
"back" button, the VO focus is at the top of the list of messages, even if
the message you closed was some way down. This means you have to swipe right
werepossibly numerous times) to get back to where you were inthe list in
order then to continue reading down your list of mails. Can anyone confirm
this?

When I open the photos I see a message that says camera roll 16 then

If you do a search for Bible in the app store, you should find it at or
close to the top.

2012-09-25 Thread Jennie Facer

I am not sure about the first question you had, but the title box will give you

2012-09-27 Thread Jennie Facer
I found that when reading the Bible with YouVersion that instead of breaking
up with every word or two, VO reads it all the way through without pause
except for headings. That is wonderful. Voice over isn't so choppy.
