Hello,
I am new to Amazon books and kindle. Could someone explain what is meant
by Whispers Voice feature in kindle, and how it works and how it is
merged with my amazon account? I naturally assumed that it went with
kindle books and now that I have purchased a few books, I am left with what
to do with them ? They can't be used by my family member as it stands at
the moment and are totally useless to her.

Transfer Question

2021-05-07 Thread Kait Forbes
Just out of curiosity, Using the iPhone SE, does everyone use only ITunes
to transfer music and books to or is there another , better, more
accessible app. that you all prefer using? The other question. How in the
world do You all convert flac to mp3. I have done some searching. There
are so many companies and programs out there that do this sort of thing. I
am very unsure what and where to purchase said program from. Any input
would be appreciated.
Thank you
Kait

amount of replies, this is a great start and really most appreciated.
Just needed to let you all know that. You can't know what this means to

Re: In need of assistance

2021-05-03 Thread Kait Forbes
 Stargazer,
Wish i knew how to respond to this email? I assure you I was not looking
for a magic bullet but instructions on how to set up my Gran's phone for
her. Thought a little background would help. Did not think that would
offend anyone? The reason I chose this particular phone was for the siri.or
anything voice related. I do not wish to stress her out over anything at
this time. But a phone in any form is a preference to nothing at all. If
it doesn't pan out, I intend to keep looking. Things aren't set in stone.
I really thought and was given to believe that this was the site to come to
for phone support on a personal level .It gives one that comradery
feeling. I think if you want to know and learn something that is so darn
important, go to the source. I still believe that sighted or not.
Thank you for your advice and support and I will also try and keep in mind
what I am here for.

I have never heard of this phone. And thank you for the update. I already
have the SE and would like to stay with it if possible.

Could you tell me if by doing this does it have to be in her voice to awake

Re: In need of assistance

2021-05-03 Thread Kait Forbes
Everything is completely new to her, yes. And me as well as it pertains to
the blind community. As far as I am aware, computers are not her thing.
She is aware of them but through me only. I have never been in this
position to teach anyone anything but I am not afraid of constructive
criticism and hard work. She will be a challenge that is for sure. We are
starting from scratch and she refuses at this point to let someone help
her. I know this is her denial stage but if I can get her to just pick up
the darn phone it's a start.

Re: In need of assistance

2021-05-02 Thread Kait Forbes
okay everyone, Wow, I am grateful for this support to help me with my
Grands phone. I need to learn as much as she does as I am the one that
will be introducing all this to her. She is not receptive to any of this.
Let's just say the fight is on. She sees light and that is it, some shadow
but nothing more. She has had a flip phone but can not use it. I bought
this and then realized I too needed assistance in order to help her. I
know that I will not be able to dump this on her all at once.Gran is having
a hard time with what has been dealt to her and I want to make sure I do
not overwhelm her at this point but do however want to introduce things
just one step at a time. If I try to push I am afraid she will shut down.
I truly believe in time she will see that this will be of benefit. It is
just her and I here and I work outside the home. I tried to set this phone
up for her but soon realized I know nothing. I need to step up to the
plate for her as she was for me in my life. I also Know I am asking a lot
from all of you here but if you could see your way clear to assisting me ,
I would be forever grateful. Let me tell you what I would like to start
with if I may? The,hey Siri would be helpful to start with getting her to
know she can use it for emergency calls or to call me when I am away. If
she starts with this will she be able to keep the speaker on without any
additional voice commands or the need to do anything else. I know this
sounds probably like an idiot mode kind of thing but I know her well enough
that that is enough. I have my number in the phone and I do believe if she
calls for 9 1 1 using hey siri there would be no problem. this being said
am I on the right track? and if so what would or could I do next to show
her there is more and to build her confidence? It is all kindergarten
stuff I know but I assure you this is how it must be done. I do hope you
all understand? I thank you very much for your kindness, support and
consideration. Kait
