I'm sorry for the delay, I missed your message. I've pasted the section about app updates below. On Android: • The document reader is now much better at handling pages with multiple columns such as newspapers, magazines, and academic articles • Quick read now works much more quickly and accurately • Increased the efficiency and accuracy of guidance instructions for the document reader • We’re also working on being able to read non-Latin-based languages in the offline quick read mode. Stay tuned for that! On iOS, we’ve made the following changes. • Supersense will now automatically set your currency based on location. Note that you will still have to download new currencies if you will be traveling. • Supersense will now display a processing message while importing a photo or pdf document • If Supersense scans a document with no text, it will now inform you instead of bringing up a blank document viewer • Much more to come! Feedback for Manual Capture Feature in Supersense
Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well! We're working on implementing some features requested here, and we're now onto the manual capture feature for the Supersense document reader. I'm curious to know what you think about the following interface change for this. First, there would be a setting in the menu. You could choose whether you wanted Supersense to automatically capture the image once it believes it has acquired a full image, or you can select manual capture. If manual capture is selected, when you open document mode, Supersense would still give guidance directions, but you could capture the image at any time using the volume up or down buttons. Wayne and Arlene, With Supersense installed on a device sharing the same Apple ID, open the app, double tap the menu button, click subscriptions, and click restore purchases at the bottom of the screen. We've run into a ton of complications, but we have developers on the column reading feature. I'd appreciate it if you held off on that review until you have a chance to test this feature. Supersense Presents Live: a Free Virtual Concert
Hi all, This isn't specifically iOS related, but it is an event I'm really excited about, and wanted to send to you all since you've so kindly supported our work thus far. This will be a pretty significant promotion advocating for blind artists and mobile technology, and I thought you may be interested. :) As you may know, I work for the company that develops apps like Supersense and Super Lidar, but you probably don't know that we're putting on a free virtual concert! To be a concert promoter has been a dream of mine since I was really young, and now I am fully submerged in putting on an international live event designed to spread the power of blind artists. I am also submerged in sound checks, videography, and technical difficulties, but that's beside the point! The show features some of the world's best blind performers (like Precious Perez, Question, John Dowling Jr, and Tony Gebhard) , as well as internationally-acclaimed Rock and Jazz guitarist Andy Timmons. Hey Richard, Thanks for the feedback! That is a good question, and I'll look into it. Accessing barcode labels would probably be a lot more convenient, and logical, from the barcode screen itself. Also, the explore button remains on the screen so you can easily switch to that mode of Supersense. Supersense Feature Questions
Hey all! I wanted to write and ask a few quick questions as we continue developing Supersense! First, we're working on adding something that will describe the visual aspects of an image. Would you prefer a textual description, like alt text, or would you prefer to explore the image on the screen of the phone similar to Seeing AI. Along the same lines, we're almost finished with our column detector, and our developers are curious to know if you'd like to see the layout of the document (which info is in which columns) or just the properly-translated text. I did check with our product manager, and we distribute updates globally all at the same time, so nothing has occurred on our end that would cause the update to be delayed in the UK. The update should have already been pushed out globally, so you should have the updated barcode feature. Please let me know if it isn't working for you. Hi all, I also wanted to elaborate on Supersense a bit. We're working on adding cooking directions, since that is a crucial set of information that can be obtained with a little cross-research after identifying a barcode. I've also noticed that from my personal experience, Supersense tends to recognize more products in my pantry than the other apps I've tried. Supersense: Responding to Some of Your Bug Reports
Hi my friends, I just wanted to reach out and let you know that we've fixed several of the bugs you have mentioned in our upcoming Supersense update. We're expecting it to be out this week! First and foremost, Supersense can now scan PDf documents up to 400 pages, quickly! Some users mentioned a size limitation before, and we have now expanded this to make sure it should work for everyone. Regarding speech engines, Supersense will now remember which voice you have selected, and Samantha will no longer disappear when another voice is in use. She's pretty far down the list, but she's there! Harry, to solve your problem, you can double-tap the stop button, and it will switch to a start button. Double-tap that again, and you should be going on a clean slate. Unsolvable Problems
Hey everyone, My name is Shane Lowe, and I am new to the list. I am blind, and I work for a company called Mediate. Our goal is to develop new and innovative ways to empower this community, and I would like to start a discussion about problems that cannot currently be solved. As a blind person, I strive to be super independent. I've lived alone, vacationed with my blind fiance in Europe, and travel often. Technology has allowed me so many options when it comes to living independently, to the point where I feel that I can move around my city, or even a city I don't know without worrying overly much about getting lost. We can travel and shop, cook and clean, and we're nearing the point of self-driving cars. So I'd like to know from you, what problems exist that haven't been solved? What do you feel is unsolvable, and if anything was possible, how would you remedy this issue? Have fun with it, and think as out of the box as you'd like.
