An extremely frustrating problem with microsoft account

2018-03-23 Thread Stephanie Mitchell

Hi all,I have an xtremely frustrating problem and I'm at a loss how toget around it. I have a microsofta ccount which I usefor word etc on my ipad. I cant sign ineaeven though I know my details are correct. When i enter the password, i just get the same screen over and over, asking me for the password. I have tried closing thea ppf the app switcher, restoring my phone to the default setings, but to no avail. What am I missing? Steph- Original Message -From: Michael Feir To: viphone@googlegroups.comDate: Friday, March 23, 2018 09:41 PMSubject: Re: Vibrating battery packA perfectly fair question especially when there are much cheeper and lighter external batteries. Normally, there's no way to tell how much charge is in an ordinary battery pack if you're totally blind. Charge is usually indicated by small lights found on the surface of the battery pack. These lights can also indicate when the battery is being charged or when it's charging something successfully connected to it.The vibrating and beeping battery is certainly heavier and larger than others which may hold more power. However, 15000 MA is enough for multiple charges of an iPHONE and other accessories. More than enough power for most circumstances where you'd need it. Since the battery vibrates in short pulses to indicate the level of charge, you can know how full it is and adjust plans accordingly. If it vibrates four times in a row when the button on it is pressed, you have over seventy-five percent of total power. If it vibrates twice, you have fifty percent or less remaining. It also vibrates to indicate when you plug it in to charge. This way, you will know for certain that it's charging and not find out later that the power brick was loose or something had gone wrong with the USB cable. No more finding out when you most need it that your battery pack has no charge or far less than you had thought. The other circumstance this battery helps you to avoid is when you think you've plugged something in to charge from the battery but actually haven't done so correctly. Perhaps, you're in a rush and want to charge your iPHONE in your pocket while it's not needed. When you successfully connect it to the battery, you'll receive an audible or vibration indicator that the batttery is charging what you've plugged in. This can be very useful when you're charging accessories such as headsets or Bluetooth keyboards which don't indicate when they're charging in a detectable way for blind people.Another very nice thing about this battery is what it doesn't have in it. Namely, a damned useless flashlight. I've had situations with other battery packs where they've lost a lot of their charge due to my unknowingly having activated the flashlight in them. "Why is your bag glowing?" Is a question I've been asked more than once over the years. Not so with the battery from the Harbolt company. Those are the reasons I bought one and would buy another if they're still available when this one starts to ware out. Hope that helps other people decide if that peace of mind is worth the admittedly higher price. Provided you have good upkeep habits and keep a regular battery charged up, you can certainly get by with an ordinary pack. If that's your choice, get one with more power than you think you'll need so there's some available should you forget to charge it. Your iPHONE certainly will vibrate and beep to let you know that it's charging and this can at least tell you that the battery is capable of charging other accessories which aren't as forthcoming with their battery status. On Fri, Mar 23, 2018 at 6:02 AM 'RobH.' via VIPhone wrote:Ok, hate to ask - why do we need a vibrating battery pack?Ta, R.- Original Message -From: "Teresa Christian" To: Sent: Friday, March 23, 2018 3:10 AMSubject: Re: Vibrating battery packThe Harbolt Company has the vibrating battery charger featured on the home page.harboltcompany.comHTHTeresa☺On 3/22/18, Mr. Ed wrote:> Hi All,>> Someone on this list was telling about a 15000 m a vibrating battery pack.> I> lost the email on it and cannot find or remember the name of the battery> pack. Re: Editing large chunks of text

2017-06-05 Thread Stephanie Mitchell
I tried this app but found it difficult to use. I use an app called byword. It's easy to use. I love markdown by the way.

It uses a Markdown language and that lets you know precisely what your formatting commands will do. Also, you can divide long documents into sheets which can be grouped. That lets you change their order very easily. A pricy choice at around $30 Canadian when I bought it but it's been worth every penny for me. One of the best apps I've ever come across. On Mon, Jun 5, 2017 at 12:37 PM Richard Turner wrote:I have not used Pages in a long time.  I never got it working very well with VoiceOver.
Do you have a Bluetooth keyboard?  That might be better.  I don't recall it working that well with gestures.

Perhaps a Pages users will chime in.

Can someone point me to a set of instructions for such text navigation and editing?

re: Twitterrific five…

2013-08-09 Thread Stephanie Mitchell

would uninstalling and reinstalling the app do this?
Steph

- Original Message -
From: Kirsten Edmondson Dear all, I'm currently having issues with Twitterrific five, in
that it is extremely slow to load and it often crashes when I try
to reply to mentions or DMs. I checked out the help section of
the app, and found that it would be advisable to clear my cash.
This seems to be my problem. However the instructions given were
quite visual, and I found it, impossible to do with voice-over.
I contacted the developer, and their response is below. Although
it is a minimal response, it does show that they continue to be
aware of us. So I thought I would forward just in case anyone
else has a similar issue.

You cannot clear the cache using voice over I'm afraid (a design
flaw that is on the list to improve). If you can get a sighted
friend to help you with the procedure, it should greatly improve
refresh times on the app. Wish I had better instructions for you
but I don't right now. Let me know, thanks.

another great thing about prizmo

Today, I got a pdf converted it to text using prizmo, and then I

Is there a way to save the document?
Also, is there a way to create an electronic signature so a blind

ipad questions

2013-06-06 Thread Stephanie Mitchell

Hi all,
I have an iphone 4s and an ipad 3.
I have some questions and have no idea how to dix this.
First of all, How do I delete the default gmail account and put
another email account on my ipad? I don't want to use my apple id
address to send emails but an address from my studio website
which I want as the default email account.
Also, how do I stop my apps from syncing from my iphone to my
ipad?

Thanks,

From: Rob Harris Ahaa, the thing is that it has taken one of the most basic
VoiceOver
commands, the flick up or down. So flick sideways until you're
on the first
news item, then flick down for the next, or up to back up. If
you double
tap one of the news items, you get options, of which go to top or
bottom are
but two; so oddly, it is the bottom of the list for the most
recent item.

Re: music notation

The notes don't show unless I turn voice over off. Then I just
touch the screen and the notes play and I asume are writen on the
stave.

Re: music notation

2012-06-25 Thread Stephanie Mitchell

Thank you.
I'd writen to the developer, but forgot to include a link.
Hopefully he will get back to me. It's not a problem to turn
voice over off at all. The butons are well labeled. It only
does the treble staff, so hopefully he will add support for bass
clef too.

Re: music notation

Yes, I admit it would be. If voiceover told us the notes, and
there was some way of playing the music back, then it could work.

music notation

2012-06-24 Thread Stephanie Mitchell

Hi all,
I'd just been trying out some music notation for the iphone. I'd
found one that is partly accessible. It's called music drawing.
When I opened the app, there's a series of butons, like to select
the duration of the note, and the stave to use. I was able to
enter notes with voice over off; I could tell the note because I
have perfect pitch. ppreciate some I'm wondering if a few of us
could play with this app and write to the app developer to make
it accessible? I have no idea how to go about that, or even what
to write, so would appreciate some help. Hopefully if we work
together, we will soon have something that we can use as blind
musicians!

how to move apps

2012-06-24 Thread Stephanie Mitchell
is there a way of moving apps? For example, is there a way of
moving all my book apps to a books folder, and all my social
networking to a folder?

Thanks.

Re: notation

2012-06-23 Thread Stephanie Mitchell
I too would love to know if there is anything. As a composer and
person looking to start teaching piano, I could do with this. I
don't have a windows pc any more, so have no way of composing
music and printing it.
