Interesting.

I didn't have to look at a phone which was nailed down in any way. Perhaps they
are, normally, but I'd think they can be released, somehow. Maybe they'd do
that for you so you can have a proper play.

0was It is also possible that Carol's music tracks are not appropriately tagged
which is why she is not seeing them by artist. The below article does a good

0was
0was Hey Carol
0was This explaination might help.
0was Your songs are on your computer. iTunes just points to the song. If you
delete a song from your playlist, it stays in your main music library, and on
your computer. But, it will come off of your phone when you sync it the next
time.
0was Even if you delete a song from the main music library, it's still on your
computer.
0was You can even go to your music through windows explorer and control c to
copy, then go to iTunes and when you are looking at your playlist, hit control
v and it will add it to your playlist and to the mail music library.
0was In fact, my wife has a folder on her computer that contains all of the
songs she wants on her phone, and I can select them all were control A), copy
them (control c), then paste them (control v) to her playlist in iTunes. It
will not duplicate the songs she already has in there, since the path is the
same.
0was
0was As to your question about the album, If you are focused on it, you should
be able to hit F2 and it will ask you to rename the item. Just like in Windows
explorer.
0was
0was Hope this helps,
0was Thom

0was I've now heard the podcast and got it into my mind how useful those
keystrokes can be.
0was
0was I hadn't realised though that, now I've made a playlist then added it to
my phone as a playlist, I now have an album which (because it's in the
Complilations (the Best of) in Itunes it doesn't show up under the artist's
name. The rest in that playlist do show up correctly. Must I live with this
or can I do anything to show that this album is by a certain artist?
0was
0was In addition, if I choose to delete the playlist from my phone or computer,
do I keep the tracks and artists intact on the phone and computer?
0was
0was I'd like to understand a little more on this so that I make the right
choices.
0was
0was Thanks for any further additional explanations you or anyone else can give
on this senario.

Re: Can I Transfer ooTunes Files from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6

2014-12-12 Thread carol . pearson29
Thanks, Jonathan! Read and digested this. I often just download upgrades but
probably need to do more of the ITunes method in order to have full control of
the apps I want back on my phone.

This makes me aware that I don't really have enough knowledge about ICloud, in
terms of using it as a VI and I just get music I've purchased stored there onto
my computer when I need.

My question therefore for you, or anybody else, is how much can we do by
accessing ICloud and what do we use to do this?

Thanks for any responses.

0" Hi Bill, the way to have done this would have been to make an encrypted
backup of your old iPhone using iTunes, then restore it to the new one. This
would restore the recordings. There's no way to do it otherwise.

Re: Turning off password

2014-12-22 Thread carol . pearson29
I don't use Password or Fingerprint, being a little reluctant to try them in
case they fail.

Are you saying here that Fingerprint can't (or is best if you don't) use it
alone but set both and you'll only use the Password if the Fingerprint fails?
Or can you set up one or the other?

Carol P wanting to try these but need some encouragement!:)

I couldn't agree more. I hate all these sites that want you to create an
account (giving all your details) for no really good reason. There are a number
of recipe sites that do this. Now you could really get me started about those
sites that ask for so much info before allowing you anything--but I'd best stop
here!:)

Has anyone compared these two apps and noticed if one appears able to play more
formats on YouTube than the other?

I quite like the native app, but there are items that just don't seem to work,
and it's always the one you really want to hear!:)

This message is of interest to me because I've been wondering if there's any

How do I go about finding more information about what would be available to me

There is also a companion app called Voice Dream Writer that is also

Re: [Bulk] SIRI LAGGING BEHIND OTHERS!

2015-02-06 Thread carol . pearson29
Yes, there's a Google app which Jonathan Mosen demonstrated. It doesn't always
work that well with my phone but sometimes it's OK. I can't remember the name
off hand and my phone is currently charging in another room, but perhaps
someone else knows the name as I'm just off to bed now. If I don't see you get
an answer I'll try to let you know tomorrow.

Re: 3 buttons of Voice Dream Writer

2015-02-08 Thread carol . pearson29
When first you use the app, you're in the Help file and you don't see these
buttons (or I didn't) until I'd located a button at the top left, which I think
says "Add" so you can work your way through and make a file of your own. Once
you have a file there editing, you should find these three buttons by flicking
right or, placing your finger at the far right of the screen, near the top,
then flicking a couple of times.

Hope this helps.

Very strange, they sometimes appear to me as if they're at the top but, hey,
you're right, they're more in the middle, or just a bit further down.

Sorry if my last explanation was a little misleading.

Hi there,

Thanks Anna, the VIP seems to have worked, at least for one message, though I
was completely unable to get into iCloud any other way.

Still, as long as one works, why worry!:)

Re: iCloud Junk/Spam Mail

2015-02-12 Thread carol . pearson29
Than'ks Christopher for this additional information.

Yes, I know I use my Googlemail address for this list, but use iCloud for other
things, and it was that address to which I referred.

I know how to handle Google spam, but iCloud wasn't letting me play ball, hence
my question; but eventually I did get it solved by adding that email address to
my VIP list.

0was Hi Carol,

0was You should be able to log into your iCloud account from either your phone
or computer. Maybe adding your husband to VIP Senders would do the trick. When
you have a message from him open on your phone, double-tap his address. A
screen with his contact info should open. At the end should be a button to add
to VIP. Double-tap that.

Re: Footnotes in the Youversion Bible app

2015-03-04 Thread carol . pearson29
Hi Cheryl,

First, I'm sorry that I've been a few days in getting round to look at this but
life has been hectic here and I just haven't had much time to read mail, never
mind answer it!:)

Anyway, I've done the following and got no success:

First I ensured Footnotes was enabled in Settings.

Second I chose a Bible that I know should have Footnotes, so I settled on the
KJV!

I chose verses that I felt sure should have footnotes. On listening through the
chapter, I could find no indication that there was a footnote. I looked at the
end of the chapter and still found nothing. Finally, I highlighted verses, then
checked again. I still didn't find anything!

I'm wondering if they appear in a different colour but, even if they do, I
couldn't think of another way to find them.

I have, in the past, sent in bug reports but not for ages and will have to look
again on how to do this.

Have you thought of anything else we may, or should we now file a bug report?

I'm so sorry not to come up with better news!

Richard,

Thanks so much for this wonderful description. It's really appreciated!

As it's quite late here now, I will be trying it out tomorrow. It sounds as
though it could be very useful--a bit like a multi-clipboard--and how I used to
love that computer programme!

Richard,

I've installed it and added a few phrases. Now let's see how speedy it makes
things.

I'm glad you managed to work out how to get started as I didn't seem to be able
to read any of the HELP apart from the 3rd page and may not have really got
there without your kind help.

Cheers.

0was Hey guys,
0was Alright, i need some advice and input here. I downloaded a ringtonw
0was from itunes the other day. Up until now, i was using the clasic old
0was phone ringtone.
0was I downloaded this track. here's what's happening. While it's playing,
0was i know voiceover is talking when i swipe to see who is calling. The
0was problem is the ringtonw isn't ducking down in volume so i can hear
0was voiceover, in fact, it's overpowering it. Any ideas of how to get
0was around this and what to do?

I think it may also be on the Blind Square web page but, again, it's late here
