RE: Getting started with Blind Square

2023-03-22 Thread davidmac1957
Hi, here’s a Youtube audio which may help.

Subject: Getting started with Blind Square

Hi,

I just downloaded Blind Square and am a little overwhelmed by all the options.
I have a couple of questions that hopefully will get me started.

When I decided to get Blind Square I thought it would work in a similar way to
Apple Maps or Good Maps Outdoors. After reading some of the manual, it seems
that Blind Square works in conjunction with Apple Maps and not in place of it.
So, what do I need to do to use them together?

Second, I bought Blind Square because I want to explore routes and destinations
starting from a location different than my actual location. My wife and I are
buying a house in a different town. I’d like to figure out what businesses are
in the area of our new house. I’d like to figure out the location of
particular types of businesses such as drug stores or florists (our anniversary
is coming soon) to know which I can reach by walking or by public
transportation.

Any pointers to get me started would be much appreciated.

Ralph

RE: Can I Use Touch ID Instead of Pass Code

2022-09-07 Thread davidmac1957
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

Scroll down and double tap Display & Brightness.
In the Display and Brightness settings, double tap Auto-Lock.
Choose the amount of time you want your screen to stay on after you last touch
your iPhone.
Hope this helps.

Sieghard and All:

I want to keep Pass Code so it is available when needed and not totally disable
it.

I think 3 people have said that it is not a good idea to have the phone powered
off most of the time as I have been doing and I want to try having it locked
when I'm not using it to save the battery. I thought powering off when it
isn't being used was saving the battery.

I set it to never lock when I first got the phone months ago and I forget where
I did it. I've spent hours this afternoon and tried the word lock in the
settings app. I found one result for lock and never and there were several
time periods in minutes and I double tapped on 5
minutes as an experiment. It's been much longer than 5 minutes and my
home screen is still talking. I don't know if I missed a save button or if I'm
misunderstanding something. Could you please help me out and give the proper
location and time period to choose for the way I use the phone?

I'm doing better with what I think is manual locking and the screen doesn't
talk and I can press the home button and speech resumes. It's been a long day
and I'm confused since I don't understand your saying "I personally am not one
of those and want my phone to lock relatively quickly after I use it" since it
went silent on me almost immediately.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Margaret

Does anyone have instructions to use the ABC Groups. Someone asked me if
there was a tutorial out their.

If someone could post some steps on how to send email with the app would
very much be appreciated.

David, that was perfect, we got it set up with hands free.

I have another question you might be able to help with. When we were first
setting up the alexa app, both our names were in the app, so we first clicked
on my name so I could train Alexa to my voice, so how would we get back to
where it has both our names so Wayne could train alex to his voice. Thank you.

When we first set up alexa on our phones we decided not to set up the hands
free alexa. Then tonight we were looking to see how we could set up the hands
free. The instructions we heard was to go into setting alexa though we could
find hands free mode. Thank you for help with this.
