Has anyone gotten these to work on the iPhone?  They are in OGG format, iTunes 
wouldn't import them, so I changed the extension to .M4R, iTunes still won't 
except them.  What is the key?

Recently, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S 6.  While it can never take the place 
of my beloved iPhone 6 Plus, it is a very, very well-made and classy device.  

One thing I absolutely adore about all of the Galaxy products, especially on 
the new S 6, is the number of native RingTones, sounds, and notifications 
included with the devices.

A quick Google search will turn up many sites where the stock RingTones for 
many popular Android Smartphones have been ripped and placed in a Zip file, 
ready to be used by anyone.

The primary reason why these RingTones are made readily available is so that 
those who wish to create what are known as custom ROMS can more closely mirror 
the native manufacturers OS with regard to basic functionality.  

Okay, okay; too much information, right?  

The following is text that I posted to an Android list containing the link to 
the RingTones, sounds and notifications for the S 6 which, you may use on your 
iOS device.

Download The Samsung Galaxy S 6 and 6 Edge Stock RingTones, Sounds, and 
Notifications

For a while now I've been using a text message alert on my iPhone 6 Plus that I 
ripped from a Galaxy Note 2.

There are several ringtones and/or notifications on my Galaxy S 6 that I want 
to use on my 6 Plus, as well.  

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that all the hard work had already been 
done for me as the S 6 and 6 Edge stock sounds are available on The Android 
Soul.com website.  

All they ask is that one gives them credit for the Zip file when sharing the 
link or when using the sounds in a custom ROM.

So, for those of you who want to sprinkle a little Galaxy seasoning into your 
Apple sauce (or anything else for that matter), I offer the following two links:

The direct download link to the Zip file containing all of the stock sounds for 
Samsung Galaxy S 6 and 6 Edge:

Please note that all of the files are in their original format said format 
being .ogg 

In order to be used in iOS as ringtones or notifications, assuming you do not 
use iTunes in the conversion process, they will first have to be converted to 
.m4a and then subsequently renamed to .m4r.

Don’t know about the hand writing thing.  But as for the folders, just move the 
apps outside of the folder, and the folder will go away.  As for the voices, 
this especially true with alex, you have to toggle voice over off, then back 
on.  This should fix that issue.

Voices: I downloaded both the VO enhanced voice and the Alex voice, and then I 
swiped down and tapped activate, but neither one is starting. Is there 
something else I need to do?

 

Handwriting: I know this isn't a new feature, but I never used it in iOS 7 so 
its new to me.

I added it to the rotor, but it says lower case when I start it...Is there a 
way to be able to write with caps too?

Is there a way to delete a character (other than leaving handwriting mode and 
hitting the delete key on the keyboard)?

Is there a way to write numbers, punctuation or math symbols like + and -?

 

Also, a question about folders... rather basic I know, but I haven't really 
created any since I got my first iPhone 3 years ago so I don't remember.

In moving some apps around on the home screen, I have inadvertently created 
some folders I didn't intend to create, and I would like to undo their 
creation. How do you delete a folder? I don't want to delete the apps inside 
the folder, just eliminate the folder itself so that the apps are not inside 
one.

iTunes 12 importing media slow?

Hello, I thought this just happened with movies and TV shows.  But when I go to 
import my personal media into iTunes 12, it’s moving way slower than iTunes 11 
did.  For example.  I imported about 10 thousand songs, and it took over a day. 
 That normally only took about 2 or 3 hours.  Then I did my TV shows, that is 
about 1TB, that usually took about 4 to 5 hours, it took over a day.  Anyone 
else notice iTunes 12 importing music slower than iTunes 11?  Thanks.

retrieving earlier messages from a iMessage or texting thread?

Okay, in IOS7 this was an option.  Say my brother sent me a text at 9:00 in
the morning, and we continued to text all day.  As the conversation got
longer, earlier messages would not be shown.  But in IOS8, the option to
show earlier messages is not there.  Has anyone figured out to view earlier
messages in a text conversation, or did they just take it away?
