I have used the call a volinteer option frequently for colors It takes a little 
time for someone to become available, but I know they are checking the thing I 
want and that their descriptions are accurate.

Try Be My Eyes. The AI channel does a very good job, though it takes a little 
while for it to analyze the picture. Of course, it will depend on lighting and 
will not match what a person with sight could, but it seems better than other 
apps that I have tried. My wife is sighted, and a quilter and she has been 
impressed with what it has said.

another question about batteries. I have been turning my Braille Sense 6 
completely off when I know I won't use it for 2 or 3 hours to save battery, but 
is turning it off and on again three or more times a day harder on the machine 
than letting it sleep and needing to recharge more frequently?

Modern lithium batteries actually do not have to be fully discharged or almost 
fully, in fact, the recommendation is to not do this and to charge when you get 
down to between 40% and 20% and to then charge to between 80% and 100%; it's 
totally fine to unplug your iPhone from the charger when it's at 89% or 93% or 
whatever.

I'd suggest to run down your backup phone as much as you can.  I've had my 
phone run down to 4 or 3% before recharging it.  I use my phone for book

I just posted about another book which won't download on the Stream 3 and won't 
unzip on the Sense player. A few days ago, I downloaded it using my bs 6. That 
copy opens and reads fine on my Sense player. Title and author are in my 
earlier post.

Apparently, Bookshare is having a problem. That is the first time I have ever 
heard of that message coming down on an audiobook. However, last night on my 
e-reader, I got the message about the zipped file at least three times. As I 
said there has never been a problem with audiobooks, so I'm guessing that book

I tried again and my book also downloaded It has been several weeks since I 
gave up, so maybe Bookshare fixed something.

complete the download, and it was available immediately.

I don't know how this works with touchscreens, but those of us who use keys can 
arrow down to where it says something like "Seek control, x minutes played of y 
minutes. You then have keys you can press to move forward by larger segments. 
The length of time is dependent on the size of the video. There must be a way 
to find that seek control prompt. Hope you can.

Arrow down. You can almost hear what you are getting below the talk. When it 
comes to the channel you chose, Go up again. Skip add is usually the first one. 
It will be silent for a couple of seconds, then start with the program you 
wanted to hear. As for fast forward and rewind, I WISH!!!

Voice Dream, but the company name is not Natural Reader Audio Books. I checked 
directly with the new owners and they purchased the Voice Dream LLC. name as

app store, for some unknown reason is showing Natural Reader Audio books, but 
if you double tap on that button or just read a little further down in the app 
store listing, you fine it says Voice Dream LLC.

No Lana, it does not.  However, just remember, that your new SD card
in the third gen stream is in xfat format, while the SD card in a
second gen stream must be formatted as fat32.  If someone wanted to

256 card off the card, reformat it in my new Stream III, and then put them 
back. Will this really solve all these problems we are having? 
I'm going to wait for more information before I take such drastic acts. Is

There are devices which can only support cards up to a certain size. Maybe that 
is the case with the VictorReader and you bought a card which is too large.

my TV has been doing that for more than a year. I have always had trouble with 
my remote. Since Comcast has something called Stream, which lets me get tv 
channels on my iPhone, I just ignored it., but every so often, it just turns 
on. It may be for thirty seconds or maybe longer till I turn it off, but then, 
a week or two later, it comes on again. 
Go figure.

If I understand this,  you still need a TV? My cable company has something 
called Stream. I can get all the television I want using my iPhone. Since 
something has gone wrong between my router, my TV, and its remote, and since it 
takes from ten to fifteen seconds for the sound to come up for me to know if 
the TV is on, I like this choice, but would prefer something which could be 
used even if I leave Comcast.

an HDMI cable to it, and then to the Apple tv, and you send your audio out 
through the RCA jacks. It's used for those times when tvs or gaming consoles 
don't have their own audio outputs, and you need to have them for some external

Currently using Voice Dream Reader to read mp3 books.
Problem is if you miss something in a book it is hard to move back a 
small amount rather than a percentage.
Other apps will let you move in 30 second increments from the control 
centre.
With VDR you can only move next track.
The slider control in notification centre doesn't seem to work.
If I've missed anything or if my skills need improving please let me know.

Yes, they have the full audio and sound effects, minus the description track 
for the blind.
Apparently, if you want to buy the video, with full audio including audio 
description, you need to buy it through Prime.
I personally am fine with just the free MP3 with no video but all the sounds 
plus audio description.  My wife who is sighted, isn't a big fan of Sci-Fi.

I assume you are talking about the Audible app on your iPhone and not the 
Audible website?
If so why don't you just open the Audible app, tap on the "Profile" tab at the 
bottom right of the screen, then select Settings > Data and Storage and under 
the "Download by parts" heading select "Single Part" instead of "Multi Part".

happens. If I go back to the done button it says nothing is selected.

Are you kidding me I'd love that! Seriously I'd love that! Have you ever 
experienced a blood pressure cuff that squeezed again before it had even 
completely let up because there was an error like you had it too low on 
your arm or something? That's happened to me numerous times, but the 
last time it did that, it squeezed so hard and it seemed to take a long 
time before it stopped, and I don't think it's considered claustrophobia 
because when you're claustrophobic, you feel scared in a confined space, 
but I felt like I would never get my arm out ever again. I got so scared 
my mom had to come over and press on the power button I guess it is, so 
the air would go out and the cuff would let up. If there would be an 
app, that would be fantastic! Please, let me know! Thanks.

Yes, the audio narrators are real people, not a TTS.  
So, in the Kindle app, you can read the title via VoiceOver or choose to hear 
the human voices which were recorded in a studio; the same audio heard in any 
Audible title.
You can also navigate the title via the audio narration or via VoiceOver.  For 
example, when you use a VoiceOver gesture to change pages or jump to a specific 
location in the book, when next you engage the Audible portion, the human voice 
narration reading will resume at the same location. It's really quite amazing 
(smile).
In the US, a standard annual Prime membership subscription is currently $139.

I am posting this because I recently discovered a new resource for accessing / 
downloading newly released and more, Audible audiobooks at no additional charge 
to Prime subscribers.
Please understand that there is a great deal about Amazon and Amazon prime 
benefits that many find rather confusion, including me, so I am just going to 
relay my experience and in no way am I posting as an expert.
Okay, the other day, I saw an advertisement for a newly released collection of 
short stories that were published on Kindle, only, with audio narration 
(narration by Audible).  There was a fee for the collection but the 
advertisement stated that Prime members could download and read the collection 
for free.
Intrigued, I fired up my trusty iOS Kindle app and opened the Discover tab.
Now remember, I'm going to keep this as simple as possible.  In no way was my 
first experience a quick and smooth one for I had no idea of how any of this 
worked.
Okay, after opening the Discover tab, I selected the category, "Prime Reading." 
 There is also a "Kindle Unlimited" category, which I did not explore.  
I suspect that the Kindle Unlimited program is to Prime Reading as the Amazon 
Music Unlimited program is to Prime Music; a guess, only.
Once I selected Prime Reading, a new screen was displayed.  There are several 
sub categories to explore but, in order to search for a specific title, I 
selected "Browse the Catalog."
On the next screen, there are two important items to note:  (1) the search 
field and (2) the filter button.
Whether you merely want to browse the catalog or search for a specific title, 
set the filter to "eBooks with Audible" and launch your search.
All of the resulting titles will be eBooks that have Audible narration that are 
free for Prime members to read in Kindle and/or listen to via Audible.
Of course there are many, many ways to navigate through the Prime Reading 
universe but the above was the method I used to get started.
What I find most delightful is that I have been able to download some titles 
that were published for Kindle, only, and still enjoy the Audible experience 
without having to pay additional fees.

Not sure where you are having a problem, but this is how I do it. 
When you download a book, or select it from your library, It opens somewhere in 
the book, usually at the beginning. If you swipe down with two fingers once, it 
will read a single page. If, instead, you swipe down twice with two fingers, it 
will read continuously from where you are in the book. 
A single finger double tap will get you into the menu. There are several things 
you can do from there, but the most useful is to keep swiping right to 
navigation drawer. Tap to enter there. Swipe again to table of contents and 
enter there. Depending on how the book is organized, you should be able to 
swipe past chapter headings and double tap on the part you want. Again, two 
finger single or double tap to read the page or continuously. 
Now, maybe you want finer navigation. This gets trickier. Again, it depends on 
how the book is organized. Use your two finger twist to go through a selection 
of movements like word, line, heading, link, all depending on the book. You 
also get things like voice rate and whatever else you have for that technique. 
You can also use a four finger right or left swipe to move by page, and don't 
ask me which is which. I always get them mixed up. 
That's about all I know. Hope it helps.

I find freezing rain is the worst in my part of the world, having lived through 
two seriously bad ice storms when buses and cars basically slid to the side of
