When will Apple take this seriously?
This is very frustrating. Hordes of emails have circulated with the many shortcomings of IOS7. Many bugss and shortcomings that have appeared in ver 7 that were not in IOS6. It becomes very frustrating when even the basic phone functions are compromised. 1. Ending calls is a pain. Countless times I thought I had ended the call but it was active. This has lead to embarrassing situations and also a drain on my wallet due to large long distance call charges. 2. When I get phone numbers in a text message, I should be able to call or message or store the number with a tap. No! I could do it with my 6 year old Nokia better. 3. Entering data in a web form has become a nightmare. With my previous phones running Talks I could do much better. I pay 10 times to get a iphone and guess what? I can do less with it! Very frustrating. This list could go on and on. . . . New models will launch, new IOS versions will roll out. . . But the shortcomings and bugs will stick with us. Technology for the sake of technology. But no technology for the visually challenged. Wish someone would charge more but make a phone that works. Phone numbers in Messages - IOS 7.0.3
I often get phone numbers in Messages. Earlier I could just double tap on the phone number which appeared as a link in the message to call. Now even though the phone number appears as a link, I cannot call or use the number. Have tried everything, going crazy. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Verizon
Hi! Recently I wanted a gold iphone 5S. the only one available was the Verizon one. I paid the full price at the Apple store thinking that since I paid in full my phone will not be locked. The person at Apple who gave me the phone also said so. However now when I put my ATT sim, it does not work! Iphone changes .jpg filenames in email?
I had a bunch of pictures which I spent hours labeling by giving them filenames like mypic.jpg etc. I emailed them to my iphone. When I went into my inbox on my iphone 4S, I was horrified to see that all my pics had been renamed into some gibberish! Why did this happen? Iphone Shortcuts
The iphone shortcuts are really a great way of inputing oft repeated words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs and even whole pages just by entering a few letters! For example I just type sd and my whole signature line appears. Similarly I just type sse and my email address is typed! Or cg and my telephone number, or sfr and the prayer of St Francis is inserted. I have actually got almost a 100 shortcuts and still adding more. It is really a great IOS feature. I send some very standard replies to my client. So I have even input whole letters as shortcuts. However I am facing one problem- I cannot input a line break in my letters. Gmail Spam?
Using the iphone email app: how do I mark an email as spam? I tried by 'moving' the email to the spam folder. The email goes into the spam folder but future emails from that spam address still come to my inbox. Is there something I should be doing to mark the email as spam? Google Maps and V.O. vs Seeing Eye GPS
I have been told that the latest version of Google Maps is quite Voice Over friendly. Also new features on Google Maps include turn by turn directions as well as POI etc. That the Google x Maps is totally free and is being constantly updated. How does this compare with other options like Seeing Eye GPS? Since this is about 70 dollars per year. Also this has data from MapQUEST which arguably may not be as good as that of Google Maps. Overall both have their pros and cons. Can anyone who has used both give their experience and comments? Much appreciated! Hawaii anyone?
I am planning a 6 week vacation in Hawaii starting mid September. Can you please suggest if it will be worth getting the Seeing Eye GPS App for the short period? I will have to pay the annual subscription, and since I am not resident in the US, I will only use the app in Hawaii. Is it worth it? Is Hawaii fully covered? Will I have to get a data plan as well? Or will the app be downloaded on my iphone and I need to only use GPS? If data plan is required, how much data will I use in 6 weeks? Since I will have to get a 6 week SIM CARD. Terribly SORE index finger!
I have begun using my iPhone more and more. In fact I rarely turn on my notebook. I am able to do almost everything with my iPhone. Recently I am troubled because the tip of my right index finger has become terribly sore. Yes! I use the right index finger tip all day - I double tap with it, I swipe left with it, I swipe right with it, I scrub, I swipe up and I swipe down! In one day, the poor right index finger tip is terribly sore! In fact right now as I tap this message, it really hurts. Any suggestions? And please do not say I should use the phone less. Mophie Juice Pack Air for 4S
Have you used the Mophie Juice Pack Air phone case with battery for your 4S? It is supposed to almost double your iPhone talk time between charges. I am looking to get this so that I may last a whole day with my 4S. Any comments? Web reviews are very contradictory. Some swear by it and some call it trash. Will appreciate actual user remarks. Audible Playing Sample Audio
On the audible.com website I find that the sample audio link which reads Play this book says that the link is visited and when I tap it nothing happens! However friends who are not running Voice Over have no problem and are able to hear the sample audio. Can anyone suggest a work around this? Siri 6.2 bugs
I used Siri to play music with my IOS 6.1 For example I would say - Play Music Rolling in the Deep by Adele. And Siri would immediately start playing it. Yesterday I upgraded to 6.2 and now when I give the same command, Siri asks me - Which app would you like to use Music or Tune in radio or or Talking Tom or etc etc it gives a long list of my apps but fails to play the music I asked for! Are there new commands in 6.2 or is it a bug? I am really disheartened as this Music play feature was very useful. Why are we going backwards with each update? Two Apps ONE Name!
The iphone has a native Camera app. I installed 1 Touch Camera. An app that takes pictures the moment you launch it. To my surprise the app is also labelled Camera. When I change its name to 1Touch Camera, then both apps are renamed! When I change the name of one app the other is automatically also renamed!! How do I ensure that the two apps have different names? I am using 4S with 6.01 the reason I particularly want different names for the two apps is that I can tell Siri to Launch 1Touch Camera and it will automatically start taking pictures! A voice command camera! But only if it has a unique name. This will not work if 2 apps have the same name. Optical Character Recognition
More than 5 years back I got the KNFB Reader Mobile which worked wonderfully on my Nokia phone. It faultlessly and quickly read letter, bills, labels, signs and almost any text font that I could focus in my mobile camera! Technology has, it seems, frozen! 5 years later I can find nothing better! In fact I am searching for the old Nokia phone to replace my ageing N86. Why has nothing new evolved? I would imagine that the OCR is the single most important tool for the visually challenged! Why has this not kept pace with technology developments? I have installed almost every OCR app for the iPhone. Sadly not one performs half as well as the KNFB Reader or the TextScout. Why doesnt any company make this! Or am I missing out on something? Battery for 4S
The iPhone is great except that I am perpetually running out of battery power on my 4. Can anyone suggest the best, most convenient and efficient way to remedy this? Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained!
I love my 4S running IOS 5.1.1 And its a great phone. In fact ever since I started using it, I find that I rarely feel the need to switch on my Mac Air! However, notwithstanding all the negative rumours about IOS 6.0 and Voice Over, I still am going to upgrade to it as soon as it is available! Why? Because I trust that the guys who could give us 5.1.1 can only do better! I can blindly take the chance :) and so will most of you who are reading this!! Greedy Apple?
I used to love Apple. But after we lost Steve, it seems Apple has gone greedy! Not happy to be the worlds largest and richest company, they have started cheating! Pity. Why do they have to resort to this when they have millions who will gladly part with their hard earned bucks? I purchase an audio book. After that, my iphone fell into a swimming pool. I bought a new one. When I pride to restore the audio books I had purchased earlier onto my new phone, they wanted to charge me again! Many phone calls and emails later, the issue is still unresolved! I have the store receipts and have paid with my card. But Apple has amnesia. They keep sending me from pillar to post. i just cannot get my audio books back. I have paid for them. I am at my wits end. Why are my paid purchases being denied us. I wonder how many others like me keep silent and just pay again. Buy peace. Shame Apple! One rotten apple is probably spoiling the rest. Help! Get me any other accessible phone.
