RE: Seeing your own messages on this list [was "Re: Accessible address book"]
That is interesting, thank you, Mike. I haven't had my gmail account but a couple days and was thinking something was wrong because I wasn't seeing my messages come back to me. Now I know why. And I choose not to worry about it, grin. Re: Seeing your own messages on this list [was "Re: Accessible address book"]
Hi, I use gmail and I have a filter set up as follows. all messages in the to: field with viphone@googlegroups.com apply the label viphone, skip the inbox. What this means is that if a message has the viphone address in the to: field, it will get the label viphone, which is like a folder, it will skip the inbox. The end result is that messages from everyone on this list and even my own messages will all have this label applied. This means that I see all messages sent to this list when I'm in the viphone folder, including my own. Now, if you use gmail and don't use a filter, then you will of course see messages to the viphone list in your inbox, but you will not see your own posts. gmail has always worked this way in regards to seeing your own messages posted to lists. -- Raul A. If you're sending messages to the group with one email address and checking with another, you will see them. This is independent of the client, since it's handled by the Gmail server. Choose edit when you're on the page of the contact for whom you want to add a note. Then choose "Add Field." One of the fields you can choose to add is "Notes." RE: Accessible address book
Hi Charles, What you are describing is called the Table Index, you can, as you describe, double tap and slide your finger or you can also touch the right side of the screen and then flick up or down with a single finger to move one letter of the alphabet at a time. The same Table Index is available in the Music app for selecting artists, albums or songs. The search field at the top of the contacts list is also a quick and easy way to find somebody since you only have to type a few characters, often 2 or 3 will narrow your list down to where it's easy to find the entry you want. Here is a tip. When you are in the all contacts page, you can quickly find contacts by double tapping and holding on the right side of the screen. Now slide your finger up and down to select the first letter of the contacts name. It took me a while to discover this... What a time saver! Chuck (mobile) Pleez x cuze any tie ping or spelin airors. Re: Accessible address book
Hi, The native Contacts app on the phone should do just fine for most people. There's another one out there called multiedit, I think, but I haven't installed and/or worked with it. Others can comment.
