Re: Anyone tried updated version of grub hub?
This is a result of the combining of Seamless and Grub Hub. Quite frustrating, isn't it? The seamless app has been this way for a long time. At one point it became completely unworkable with VO and stayed that way for quite a while. At least it is now usable. I would encourage everyone to communicate the issues. Heading navigation was also not workable with Grub Hub for a while but eventually began working again. Not sure if this was VO or Grub Hub. Re: Anyone tried updated version of grub hub?
Yes, I also found the new version very confusing and after trying to play with that for half an hour or so decided to try to downgrade it. I really did not find anything to like about this version. It is very, very confusing. I have several delivery addresses and I had tough time to select my current address as the default. Then I completely was not able to see all menu items and select what I want. May be the accessibility is there and may be if I try hard enough I would figure it out, the problem is, it is the utility program which is only used when I need to order some food and I really enjoyed the fast and simple way to order in prior version. Unfortunately with such big changes, they are here to stay. They will never return to the old interface and I also tried the android version, it is the same. So I'll try to downgrade, if that does not work, will use the grubhub internet page to order. I really like the service and would not like to give up using it only because they decided for new application interface. -Igor. -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. Forgot to say that in previous versions, if you double tapped on more info about a specific place, the distance information was there, which was fine; they didn't need to change that. > On Jan 10, 2016, at 7:06 AM, Don Breda wrote: > > Hi there. > > Well I have been struggling a bit to decide whether to write grubhub about > the new app for several reasons. > > 1. Re: Anyone tried updated version of grub hub?
The hamburger button isn't a problem for me. I wasn't necessarily concerned with knowing how far a place was from me, since if the restaurants coming up our location specific, it stands to reason that they be in my delivery area, which is all I care about. It's the unlabeled buttons and not being immediately apparent how to bring up the address where you'd like to order from that bothers me. Previous versions of the app were more compact; I understood better what you were supposed to do. And they need to know about if it's crashing, or what you think is inefficient. I hope you do write to them, since they'll have more to go on if it's more than just me doing so. > On Jan 10, 2016, at 7:06 AM, Don Breda wrote: > > Hi there. > > Well I have been struggling a bit to decide whether to write grubhub about > the new app for several reasons. > > 1. Re: Anyone tried updated version of grub hub?
Hi there. Well I have been struggling a bit to decide whether to write grubhub about the new app for several reasons. 1. I like a lot of what they did with the new app and I can't say they have broken accessibility although such things as having the menu button called hamburger which I have seen in other apps and removing the tabs at the bottom of the screen suggest that accessibility has possibly fallen off the radar a bit. I suspect the development team has been changed over there. Having said this I also feel the app is somewhat less efficient to use then before which concerns me. I do like some things about it though. I like the fact that you know a restaurants distance away from you immediately. I do miss the headings in the menus but they have been replaced by a categories button so the effect and of using headings is not lost for us although its a bit more inefficient. Also yesterday I tried to use the app and it kept crashing on me which hadn't happened in my earlier uses of the new version so I suspect updates will come soon. Don't write it off, give it a chance. Its not as bad as you might think on first use but I am still not sure yet if I will write grubhub or what I will say to them if and when I do. I probably will write to keep accessibility on their radar, they have been very responsive to that in the past but I don't feel at this point that accessibility has been broken in any way yet. Re: Anyone tried updated version of grub hub?
Hey, Yes, the new Grubhub is awful with VO as instead of one flick from one restaurant to the next it is now 6 or 7 flicks to get to the next restaurant. If you are on a mac, and have not updated your apps in iTunes I would suggest rolling back to the previous version of Grubhub as I did. I have tweeted Grubhub about this as they also once again broke header navigation when trying to go through a restaurants menu. The new app is just awful. > On Jan 9, 2016, at 12:38 PM, Kathy Brandt wrote: > > I was rather dismayed on first seeing it.
