Hello, My husband recently died so I no longer have sighted help. Sometimes my internet goes down or I think it has. I’m looking for an app that will either tell me if the power light is on and/or what color it is. I could be wrong, but I thought seeing AI had a light detector in the app where it could emit a low tone for no light or a higher tone for recognition of light being on I know I can do this with my Envision glasses, but I haven’t found it in the app. . Yes, that is very sad news and I cannot imagine the loss … I echo Jody’s recommendation of Be My Eyes AI channel. I just checked our modem and it informed me that there is a vertical series of lights all illuminated green which usually means proper functionality or some statement like that. I too agree the BeMyEyes AI channel would be a good option. I'm so sorry, Kim. You've gotten some good suggestions. One thing I do is tto look at my phone and computer, if both are out, it's wifi. Same for Alexa, if all my stuff stops working at the same time, then I know it's the internet, not the device. Hello aunt Kimberly, this is Mike from Oklahoma again. One thing you could do is check the status line on your phone. If the Internet is gone, it will probably tell you something like LTE or whatever the carrier you were with. Kim, I am terribly sorry for your loss and I send thoughts and prayers in your late husband's memory and for you in difficult times. Surely these small things such as checking lights can become quite big without assistance. I have the hope you will soon have a simple solution. My experience is that iPhone apps aren't as good as the light probes that once were available--and still may be available. I find it difficult for the iPhone camera to focus down on a single light or to show the color of the light. Others may have found ways to make this work, although I haven't. Good afternoon Richard, I have the color identifier that also has a light detector. That part works quite well. I also for $25 got a keychain type of light detector from laws actually not loves it was the tech guys. That works quite well. also small enough to keep in your pocket of purse or whatever you’re using. so those two are standalone. Anyway, good luck. I haven''t tried Be My Ai yet for LED's, but I imagine it could work really well. One example where Be my AI again provided the perfect answer was with a new keyboard I just bought. It is a Keychron K10 Pro mechanical keyboard and since I know the topic of keyboards comes up from time to time, I'll post a separate message about it since it can be used with an iPhone/iPad/Mac computer hence it's on topic for the list. Anyways, the short story is that I wanted to know where the FN key was on that keyboard since FN + 1 on the number row pressed for 4 seconds puts it in pairing mode. I toop a picture of the keys near the bottom since all others seemed very standard and Be My AI told me that the picture was of a mechanical keyboard although I am not actually sure how it knew it was mechanical. I asked via text if there was an FN key and the answer I received was "Yes, there is a FN key on the right side between the Windows and Control Key". In other words it is where often the application/context menu key is, but the answer was short, correct and to the point.
