Hi Christine,

There's a check box in your iPHone's music settings called Sync Only Checked 
Songs, or something like that. If you haven't done it already, try checking it.

At My Wit's End with Listening to Only Checked Music in iTunes

OK, I really do love Apple Music. But when I try to play *only* the music I 
have checked it does not comply; when I listen on my iPhone, it shuffles 
through everything I’ve got in in My Music, including unchecked items. If this 
no longer works if one subscribes to Apple Music, what is the point of having 
it?
