Re: Attention, Easier Way to Play SiriusXM
You do need to have a SiriusXM account to use this app. The original app recommended on this thread will use your Sirius information to log-in to your account so you can listen. Hi Julian, No, there is no connection between the SiriusXM satellite radios and apple devices. You can set up favorites on an iOS device and presumably a mac, but those favorites do not sync to a radio. If you want favorites on a radio, you have to set them up on the radio itself. RE: Attention, Easier Way to Play SiriusXM
Hi Shirley, Off the top of my head, I don’t know how to clear the presets. Sorry about that. Those radios have menus, so it might be in there, but they are not accessible. When I was talking about the Number 3, it is the number 3 on the keypad part of the remote for dialing the channels. You don’t use the number 3 to change from entering the presets to dialing directly, you use either the button above the number 3 on the remote, or if that doesn’t work then try the button that is two above the number 3. . Sorry this is a bit hard to explain. Hi, So, just to be clear, is it being suggested or is it at all possible to use either an iOS device or a Mac computer to program or reconfigured the presets on a Sirius XM radio? Inquiring minds want to know. Thank you. On November 17, 2020 3:38:55 PM "Debby" wrote: Hi Shirley, It does depend on which model of radio it is. Okay, I know how to add presets but this is not what I'm asking. I want to know first, if you already have your presets which I do, if you want to go to a different channel not in your presets, how do you do that? I have buttons 1 through 10 so I tried pressing 21 just for an example, to go to that particular channel and it didn't seem to work. So I want to know how to clear my presets and start all over again. Hi, Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but SiriusXM stuff isn’t always that accessible. The radios have never been accessible, over the years the website is iffy and some of the emails they send out are silly when it comes to accessibility. I am not sure why I stay with them, because I have complained numerous times about the emails to no avail. Sorry for the venting, but they seem to be a company that doesn’t care! Good luck! Call them at 866-635-2349 and ask them for their best discounted price on their premier streaming service. They usually have it for $5 to $6 a month for six months. You might have to pay up front but it is a good price. They should be able to tell you how to set up an account at the same time. Shirley: I don't have a radio, but I'm guessing you tune into the station you want to make a preset. Hold the preferred preset button in until it beeps. This is the way one would set presets on other Sirius or car radios anyway. I would suggest you have Aira or Be My Eyes describe the radio and remote buttons to you. In Aira's case, they may even be able to pull up the manual or other information. Rich: You can call the Sirius phone number, of which there are several. Here's one possibility: 1-888-539-7474. Or, you could go to the Sirius website, start a free trial and fill in your information on the initial form. Good luck, Wayne Merritt On 11/17/20, richr...@gmail.com wrote: > I am trying to subscribe to SiriusXM, can anyone tell me exactly how to > accomplish this? > > > > From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Alan > Lemly > Sent: Monday, November 16, 2020 9:17 PM > To: viphone@googlegroups.com > Subject: Re: Attention, Easier Way to Play SiriusXM > > > > Shirley, > > > > Were you able to log into your Sirius account with the StarPlayrX app? I have a question about the radio itself. I've got one that has 10 buttons for presets. Does anyone know how to clear the presets or how you can enter a channel number with presets on the radio? I have a remote that came with it. Sent from my iPhone > On Nov 16, 2020, at 9:17 PM, Alan Lemly wrote: > > > Shirley, > > Were you able to log into your Sirius account with the StarPlayrX app? Re: Attention, Easier Way to Play SiriusXM
There's a lot to like about the starPlayrX app, but there are also a number of things missing from it that are in the regular siriusXM app. Such as: ability to jump from song to song, the "Go live" button to quickly jump to the currently playing live time on a track or broadcast, and favorites. Granted, I highly wish the regular Sirius app used the rotor actions like many other apps do with favorites. As of yet, that is my only real gripe with the Sirius app. It can be cumbersome to use if you are new, but I've gotten quite comfortable with it over the last 6 months. Not taking anything away from this free app people have found. I would like to see the free app develop further. Re: Setting favorites using StarPlayrX presets was RE: Attention, Easier Way to Play SiriusXM
Hi Chris, Thanks for pointing out that All Stars is sometimes labeled as Channels when returning to the main screen. Regarding those three channels automatically included under All Stars or any channel you've added there that you later want to remove, you can drill down on that channel until it is playing and then turn off the Preset button in the upper right corner and the channel will be removed from the All Stars favorites list. This app is making SiriusXM much easier to use with VoiceOver since it uses categories and word lists to present the information. I especially like that it includes both the channel number and name in its lists. This makes it a great source for identifying the ever changing channels and for asking a digital assistant like Alexa to play a particular channel number. A couple of things to note: 1, After double tapping on All Stars, there are 3 channels listed before you get to your list of presets. So if you start swiping and find other channels instead, do not give up, keep swiping your presets are there. You can also do a four finger single tap to go to the bottom of the screen and just swipe backwards up through your presets. 2, If you double tap on All Stars, then hit the back button to go back to the Categories page, you will notice that you will have Channels and All Channels, and Channels will be selected. Channels is the same as All Stars, for some reason, when it is selected, the name just changes from All Stars to Channels. Hope this solves the issue of All Stars sometimes disappearing. Setting favorites using StarPlayrX presets was RE: Attention, Easier Way to Play SiriusXM
Hi List, I think I might have figured out how to use the Presets button with the StarPlayrX app to set SiriusXM favorites with StarPlayrX. The app doesn't seem entirely consistent so I hope this works. First, find a channel you'd like to mark as a favorite by double tapping it until it starts playing. Second, touch in the upper right corner and place focus on the Preset off button and double tap to turn Preset on. Now, when you're back on the Channels home screen, Categories should be the heading in the top center of the screen just below the status bar time and Popular will be the first listed heading. The first item under the Popular item should be All Stars which will contain any channels you marked with the Preset on button while it was playing. You can double tap on All Stars to confirm your list of marked favorite channels. Sometimes All Stars doesn't appear on the channels main screen which I've not quite figured out why. Hopefully, this will help folks to get started marking their favorites with this app and I welcome other comments anyone has after using it.
