Can You Set Notifications for Emails from Specific Contacts?
I normally use the default settings for my iPhone 5 regarding notifications, etc. I like the way I get notified when receiving a text message but not email messages since I get not many texts but a large volume of email. Is it possible to set a notification so you are alerted when getting an email from a specific contact? I would like to be able to get a similar alert as I do for text messages when receiving emails from specific parties. I've poked around a bit in the settings but couldn't figure out how to do this if it's possible. Thanks in advance for any assistance with this question. There might be apps that can accomplish this: but using the stock iPhone features, the closest thing I know of is the VIP mailbox, which has custom notifications that can be set independently like other mailboxes, but is populated based on who sent the email rather than to which account it was addressed. Yes, placing a person's email address in the VIP mailbox sets it up such that when receiving an email from that person, the email appears in one's notifications. It works on my iPhone running v7.04.
