The developers said that you could update to ios 9, and that would solve the problem, or they said there would be an update to the downcast app to address the problem for ios 8 users. So you can either update to ios 9, or wait for the update for Downcast to come. Personally, I have started using the Overcast app until the Downcast update becomes available. Hi all, this issue affects people running Downcast on versions of iOS below 9.0. Your options are to: 1 upgrade to iOS 9.1, 2 join the Downcast beta program so you can receive a build where the option is fixed, 3 wait until the beta process is over and an update in the App Store will fix the issue, 4 or use another client. Hi Russ, My husband, who is using an Ipod running 7.x, had to update to 9.x in order to get the player in downcast to work. Now all is well again. Good luck! The dev tweeted out last night that there were some issues with playback on iOS versions 8.x and advises that if you can, upgrade to iOS 9.x. Try powering down your phone. If this doesn't work uninstall and reinstall the app. Mine works fine after the update. Hello Gary, Mine was not an automatic update, I started it myself. I am not sure what you are running, but I am running ios 8.4 on an iphone 6. It is a very strange thing. Everything works just fine except the player just does not play anything. It looks like the player somehow got corrupted or something.
