When you go down to your device and check music do you also check "sync selected music"? Hi Christine, You already got some advice from Larry and Kimberly. However, I think that what is happening here is that you have Music set to on under Show All in Settings, iTunes and App Store. This would then show all the music you ever purchased from iTunes even if it is not downloaded to your phone. Once again, go to Settings, iTunes and App Store and then find the heading "Show All". Flick right once from there and see if music is turned on, if so double tap on it to turn it off and see if that fixes your issue. As for looking at your music in iTunes, it is much better to use the column browser. In order to do that you have to make sure the "Songs" radio button is checked and not one of the others like Albums, Artists or Playlists. Once that is done, go to the View menu and find the Column Browser, submenu. Expand it with the right arrow and tell it to Show Column Browser. The shortcut is Control+Shift+B. Now you have 4 list views as follows: Genre, Artist, Album and then the actual Music list view with all your songs. If, however, you select a particular artist, you will only see all the songs from that artist in the music list view. If you select an album, only the songs from that album will show. Christine, I had a similar frustration recently. It seems like if you have checked a certain artist or genre or playlist for syncing it doesn't matter whether the songs are checked or not. Just out of curiosity, are the unwanted songs part of the albums you aren't able to see in iTunes? Here is what happened to me. It may be helpful to you. I unchecked all the songs in my iTunes library. Next I deleted all the music on my phone. Next I went into iTunes and checked just one artist before syncing my phone. When I was satisfied that only the artist I had checked had synced to my phone, I checked additional artists then playlists. It seems like there is some sort of hierarchy within iTunes that determines what is synced. Be sure you have unchecked all artists, genres, albums and playlists you don't want synced before syncing your phone. If you still have issues, let me know and I'll try to help. I know it is very frustrating. I was ready to tear my hair out before I figured out what was going on.
