Hello Janet,

I hope you didn't think I was being patronizing or trying to offend you, but
obviously I don't know you and your history of vision loss/being sighted most
of your life. Anyways, it is of course not impossible that something could be
wrong with your camera, only a technician at an Apple Store could probably tell
you that. All I can say that I have set up Face Id on my iPhone 11 more than
once and recently on my iPhone 13 Pro and the phone had certainly no issues
seeing me and recording the head movements it asked me to do with it being held
in front of me. I should mention that I don't hold the phone at head height, it
feel not natural to me so I hold it slightly angled up/back pointing at my
face/head and at the same time looking down on a slight angle; I would say I
probably hold the phone at chest heifght.

Hello Sieghard,
I have no problem with sense of directions. I don’t have to make an effort to
look at people including the phone, as that still comes natural to me, maybe
because I was sighted most of my live so I don’t have any problem with looking
directly at anything. As people don’t even believe I’m Blind including some
of my own family members. There has been several times I’ve had to show
verification to prove I am really Blind. But, in either case that is how it is
with me. I stand completely straight, I walk completely straight, my head is
completely straight up.My eyes are clear and wide open as well. The rep
also had a hard time seeing my face, as he said that is the way the Camera is
seeing me. Matter of fact, all he could see was the left side of my face just
a little. He kept saying it is to dark, even though, I had the lights on. I
was outside earlier trying to set up the Face Id, but I couldn’t set up Face ID
because I was holding the phone in front of my face. I set up Face ID at least
three times with the same phone, and the same body and head, with no problem.
A person would have to have a complete disfigured body to set up the phone in
the way I had to sit in order to enable Face ID. The main problem was the way
the phone was seeing me, and that was in a extremely unusual way. Now, could
the main problem be because of the way the phone seen me, in which this makes
me wonder just how the phone does see me as far as Security, I don’t know. Is
there something wrong with my Camera, I don’t know. Could it be because I had
my Screen Curtain on at the same time I was trying to enable Face Id, I don’t
know, could have something accidentally gone wrong during the update, I don’t
know. Ok now Sieghard, sit in a chair, tilt your head to the left, and look
down as if you are trying to look at your left hip, with you holding the phone
down very close to your left thigh. Smile! In any case, I do have Face ID
working.

Janet, not everybody has the same sense of direction and for some blind people
it is really difficult o look at something, to walk in a reasonably straight
line and so on.
I think maybe the Apple rep had some experience with this and found that asking
people to hold the phone this way and looking down was the best way to get them
to look the right way.
I just set up my iPhone 13 Pro last week and for me it was fine to hold the
camera more or less at arms length, of course I did have my elbow bent a bit so
the phone wasn't too far away, but this worked fine for me. I have been blind
for a long time now, I am 55 and lost my sight in an accident when I was 16,
but I try to make an effort to look at people when I speak to them and I have
had conversations with customers at my store who didn't know me and who never
realized for the first minute or two that I couldn't see.
It's good Apple Accessibility could help and hopefully you feel a bit less mad
at iOS 16.2 since it obviously turned out that it was not the culpret 😂

Hi Janet,

Once again there is another thing you can try and that is to simply play some
radio station from Apple Music or ask Siri to play whatever music you like and
then see if the music also stops. If it does not then obviously there might be
something happening with your playlists.

I’m sorry to say, but my Bluetooth issue came back. Although, I am finding my

Hi Janet,
There are occasions where artists remove songs from a streaming service. It
could be a case here with your said playlists. Typically, they are marked as
error when going through the playlist. You may want to review the playlist and
delete the song and see if you experience the issues you are having.
Additionally, it could be a song that you potentially ripped (put onto your
computer) that can be found via apple music library section. Same can be done
where you can delete it if there is an error.

Worth a shot here.
Hope that helps.

RE: Face ID, and Bluetooth Speacker Resolved.

2023-01-11 Thread janet gross

Hi Everyone,
I spent some time on the phone today with Apple Support. I finally got to
enable Face ID. What I had to do was hold the phone down close to my lap, and
holed the phone a little toward the left, and look down at the phone, and then
Voiceover started reading to me the directions which way to move my head! I
was holding the phone strait out in front of my face, as I usually did to

to put the phone. The Apple rep said that is how the camera is seeing my face.
I have to admit, I wouldn’t have ever thought of that! Now, about my Bose
Speaker not connecting to Apple Music. The rep and I did just about everything
we could think of, we removed the speaker from the phone, reconnected the phone
back to Bluetooth, checked allThe Bluetooth settings, and nothing would
work, so then the Apple rep said hey Janet did you check the volume buttons on
the side of your phone, I said oh ok I will check them, and I pressed the up

Wow, you talk about feeling like an idiot, I sure did! The Apple rep and I

Hi Feliciano,

I’m sorry to say, but my Bluetooth issue came back. Although, I am finding my
Bluetooth Bose Speaker stops playing only when I am listening to certain Apple
play list, but not all play list that I have created some years ago. I’ve
listened to Apple Music with my Bose Speaker, my Sony 400 Ear Buds, my Power
Beats Ear Pods, the phone by its self, meaning without any Speakers, and the
Apple Music still stops playing. But, like I said only with certain play lists
, I listen to. I find this quite unusual as well. Thank you for your
encouragement it is greatly appreciated.I think I might need to do
something to the play lists, just not for sure yet.

It took me a bit to get used to face ID. I find that if I have the
phone on my lap and I kind of turn my head kind of towards my phone
that things work better. I didn't have to much trouble setting up
face ID in the beginning which was unexpected for me. Glad you were
able to get things resolved.

was holding the phone strait out in front of my face, as I usually did to
enable Face ID, but not this time. I found this method to be quite unusual,
but it worked! The Apple rep and I shared screens, so he could tell me where
to put the phone. The Apple rep said that is how the camera is seeing my face.
I have to admit, I wouldn’t have ever thought of that! Now, about my Bose
Speaker not connecting to Apple Music. The rep and I did just about everything
we could think of, we removed the speaker from the phone, reconnected the phone
back to Bluetooth, checked allThe Bluetooth settings, and nothing would
work, so then the Apple rep said hey Janet did you check the volume buttons on
the side of your phone, I said oh ok I will check them, and I pressed the up
volume button, and sure enough, the Bose Speaker was playing the Apple Music!
Wow, you talk about feeling like an idiot, I sure did! The Apple rep and I
both started laughing! What a idiot I felt like!

Thank you all so much, as it is greatly so appreciated!

Janet

RE: Face ID, and Bluetooth Speacker Resolved.

2023-01-09 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
