i just recently read how to turn off that 
go to email, contacts calendar,
as you scroll down there is a check box to show in apt switcher just below 
contacts

Go into Settings -> Mail, Calendars, Contacts, and in the Contacts 
section, make sure show in app switcher is turned off.
