Just move itt like any other app and drag it down into the dock. If itt is
not in the position where you want it the first time around, you can drag it

Hi Sieghard,
Thanks for the info. I was concerned about dragging the app to the dock and
having it make a folder or how I was going to get it in between the apps I
wanted. Now that you told me that folder cannot be made in the dock that made
it less worry some and I drag the app down and got it where I wanted it.
Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

2016-06-12 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
By the way, I personally rarely use the Contacts app itself and have it stuck
on I think my third home page where I keep apps I rarely use because I find itt
easy enough to just open the Phone app and tap on the contacts tab which is
just about above the home key. That basically give me access to my contacts the
same way as the Contacts app does.

RE: How to get an app out of a folder?

2016-05-03 Thread deidre muccio

I find moving apps around very time consuming and a bit hit or miss in terms of
where things wind up. If you have not yet succeeded in doing what you want
according to Sieghard's suggestions, the only thing I can emphasize is that
once you get into the folder you want and your finger is on the app you want to
move, just start moving the app while voice over tells you if you are still
inside the folder, approaching a border, outside the folder, what column you
might be in or what other app you are on. Main thing is not to lift your finger
once you find a spot where you are happy to leave the app for the time being.
You must hold your finger there for 5 seconds which voice over will make a
sound to help you count. After you hear the 5 tones you can lift your finger
and I believe the original folder you were in will close. If any folder is
still open or in edit mode I believe you can hit the home button and it will
close.

Voice over is with you the whole way through this process so listen carefully
and you will have a very good idea of what is going on.

Hi Sieghard,

Thanks for the info. I got it all corrected. I saved your information in case I
ever do that again. Now that I have taken an app out of a folder I understand
how it workds.

Once again thanks for the great instructions.

Ed

Ed,

If you accidently create a folder it’s easiest to immediately find the app you
were moving and move it out again by doing a double finger tap and hold on it,
then just move your finger up on the screen maybe 2 inches. I don’t recall
exactly what Voiceover says, but it is something like to hold for 5 seconds to
move the app out and there are some tones playing as you are holding.

If you have already gone out of editing/moving mode, just find the folder, open
it and double tap and hold on any app in the folder, once editing mode is
active drag your finger up the screen a bit and hold for a few seconds just as
described above.

Regards,

Sieghard

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to move an app in to my Extra folder. But when I tried moving and at
to it I got it on to another app and it created another folder which I did not
want to do. So now how do I get the app out of that folder and delete the
folder?

Also what is the easiest way to move at to a folder without getting them on top
of another app and created another folder? Any suggestion on how to move app to
a folder the easiest way would be appreciated.
