I O S Install and display issues now with the Fahrenheit App

2013-09-18 Thread Steve "The Jazz Man"
Just installed IOS-7 and very glad I had a pair of working eyeballs available.
With
the install complete, I have one small display issue with the Fahrenheit app.
I have 5 different Weather apps all in one folder which appears on the Home
Screen
or Page 1. It use to be that the current temperature could be seen next to the
folder
name without having to open the folder and go to the app.
I have reviewed all display settings and things look correct.
Wonder if this is a problem with this app and the new IOS or if I'm just missing
something simple.

i assume it is a bug in IOS 7. voice-over doesn't read app
notifications count inside a folder.

It may have something to do with Voiceover and the new way that apps are
displayed. My sighted wife says that the font for the app icons is larger.

Hi,
Perhaps I can clarify for you. What you say is true when accessing the app
once inside its containing folder but it used to verbalize its temperature
info when outside of the folder in which it resides. that is no longer
verbalized though it does appear with the folder's icon visually.

I hope that clarifies things.

Re: I O S Install and display issues now with the Fahrenheit App

2013-09-19 Thread Robin Frost

Hi,
Someone else I know who reported a similar problem said it wasn't just
limited to this particular app. Is your weather app located within a folder
as well? so when you are on the icon for the folder containing it the folder
icon reports the change to its temperature badge then?

turning hints on had no impact on the lack of verbalization.
I did report it to apple accessibility so they can attempt to confirm the
issue.

Hi Robin,

I would bring it to the attentionof the developers. I use a Canadian weather
app which displays the temperature on the icon and it works fine so it might
just be something they have to fix although it appears from some of the
replies that it works for others. Maybe try and turn on Voiceover Hints?
