iMessage and text messages are two different things, iMessage is an apple only thing, but if you turn off iMessage then you only send texts or receive them at the other end, then you only send text back. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Donna Casteen Sent: Wednesday, 22 April 2020 10:57 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Texting from an iPad [was "RE: I just looked in the settings but I could not find it"] Text messages can be sent to an android user from an iPad, as long as the android user has the text message settings set to use an email address & a cell phone number. Texting from an iPad [was "RE: I just looked in the settings but I could not find it"]
You have several options. If you have an iPhone then you can set it up so SMS text messages will be forwarded to your iPad: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208386 You could also use a 3rd party app, like Google voice: https://support.google.com/voice/answer/115116?co=GENIE.Platform%3DiOS=en -- Christopher (AKA CJ) Chaltain at Gmail > -Original Message- > From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf > Of Simon A Fogarty > Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2020 1:49 AM > To: viphone@googlegroups.com > Subject: RE: I just looked in the settings but I could not find it > > I don't believe the ipad will let you send messages to android as iPads use > imessage which is an apple product only service, An imessge to Imessge > protocol, > > If you send from your phone then you should be fine. > > However you might be able to find a google app that will let you message a > google account on an android phone. > > -Original Message- > From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf > Of B. RE: I just looked in the settings but I could not find it
I don't believe the ipad will let you send messages to android as iPads use imessage which is an apple product only service, An imessge to Imessge protocol, If you send from your phone then you should be fine. However you might be able to find a google app that will let you message a google account on an android phone. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of B. J.
