Hi,

You can delete it from Dropbox as soon as you export it into Downcast. I think
you have to remove it from your favorites first, but I could be wrong about
that. You'll also need to delete it from Downcast when you're done listening.

Cheers,
Anna

Hello Joe,
I recently purchased iCatcher, and I absolutely love the app. iCatcher makes
the experience of subscribing to, managing, and listening to podcasts very
nice. With iCatcher, you can configure numerous options either globally, or

RE: Icatch or downcast?

2013-02-15 Thread Cristobal
Another plus for Downcast is that if you're playing a video file or podcast,
you can choose to have only the audio play.

I've found the last few updates to be a bit sluggish and crashing is an
issue, but I don't know if that's a function of my over 60 podcast feeds,
but the dev is always updating and addressing bugs, so hopefully the app
will continue to improve in features and stability.

They're both very solid apps, but I do find myself using Downcast much more
often than iCatcher.

Hi,

Yes Downcast can do this. First, you need to get the files into Downcast.
These can be any unprotected audio format the iPhone can play. Downcast can
bring files in from the iPHone's iTunes library, you can use iTunes file
sharing to copy a file from your computer, or you can use an app like
Dropbox or Filer to export the file to Downcast.

Once the file or files are in Downcast, go to Tools and choose IMport
Files. You import them into a podcast that is named by default"Imported"
followed by the current date and time. As with actual podcasts, you can
configure the speed and other options, and Downcast keeps your place as you
listen to the files. It's very cool.

Anna

Nice, I'll have to play with this, I didn't realize it would do this. I'm
loving downcast more and more, I'm already a huge fan. Thanks for this and I'll
play with it and if I run into problems or need anything I'll yell. Thanks
again and take care.

Re: Icatch or downcast?

2013-02-15 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi,

Yes Downcast can do this. First, you need to get the files into Downcast. These
can be any unprotected audio format the iPhone can play. Downcast can bring
files in from the iPHone's iTunes library, you can use iTunes file sharing to
copy a file from your computer, or you can use an app like Dropbox or Filer to
export the file to Downcast.

Once the file or files are in Downcast, go to Tools and choose IMport Files.
You import them into a podcast that is named by default"Imported" followed by
the current date and time. As with actual podcasts, you can configure the speed
and other options, and Downcast keeps your place as you listen to the files.
It's very cool.

Best,
Anna

Re: Icatch or downcast?

2013-02-15 Thread Brett
Hi,

Both are fully accessible and their feature set is about the same. Downcast is
the winner for me, because when you speed up a podcast or audio book, the
speech is less choppier in downcast.

Btw, I own both because icatcher was the first to let you import audio books.

Both are accessible, but I find downcast more intuitive to use.
