Hi. Is it correct that there will be a special version of navigon coming, specially for blind users. I have navigon. My brother says it has become much more accessible, but I have never liked navigon. I bought garmin, I will not recommend that app, because it is for cars, but it is very easy to use. Just to be clear, you can use Navigon to get turn by turn directions and that part of the app (i.e. telling it that you want the directions) is accessible. But there are many aspects of the app which are not accessible. You'll really be using it for turn by turn directions and little else (i.e. just finding out where you are in realtime). Hello Neil, Grant, and others: We use Navigon on a regular basis here. What is it that you are wanting to accomplish? When traveling it is the primary navigation app that accompanies us. Some prefer other applications though navigon has done quite well. I use it quite a bit to provide individuals with turn by turn directions if they cannot locate me in a city … I always get a kick out of being able to direct people around a city and when they get there they are surprised to discover that they received directions from a person who cannot see :). worth the price of admission :). Navigon and other apps make such pleasures (and the ability to work) possible. If you are wanting to know about certain specifics in navigon, do not hesitate to ask. Hi Neil, Navigon was broken for a while in terms of accessibility, but recent updates have fixed significant issues as far as I can tell. I'm not sure how snappy its performance will be on an older phone. Hopefully it won't be too sluggish. Hi Patrick, I absolutely agree. Navigon provides outstanding turn by turn directions, enhanced by its ability to access maps offline. In that respect it's fully accessible with VoiceOver. I was simply pointing out that the primary reason why a VoiceOver user would want this app is to hear turn-by-turn directions. You could not really use Navigon to, say, explore the map, or find out where you are in terms of nearest intersection and so forth.
