RE: KNFB settings, was iDentifi Question
Same here, KNFB Reader doesn’t really have a lot of settings to adjust except what Richard already mentioned, flash and document type. I personally like to set the Profile to automatic picture. This way I just place my phone flat on the page, make sure the upper right corner where the camera is located is approximately in the middle of the page and that the phone is straight/parallel to the edge, then I lift it straight up quite quickly to about 10 inches or a foot above the page. If the profile is set to automatic KNFB Reader will say “Text Detected” after a second or so, I then just hold the phone still and a second or two later the picture is taken automatically and I don’t have to tap anywhere. You may want to get sighted help to practice this because you have to have a feel for how high to lift the phone and it’s a good idea if somebody is there who can tell you if you are lifting it straight up because obviously if you move it to the left or right or up or down you may not get the entire page, same thing happens if you tilt it, but you can turn on tilt guidance to help with that. The difference was yesterday, in a dark room when I tried the back of a book. then, it did a very bad job, while the iDentifi app did an excellent job. But, that is the exception.
