RE: Need help with apple tv, please?
Hi Wendy, That should be correct, but I assume it has other ports, Component and Composit but as long as it is set to HDMI 1 and there is only 1 HDMI port it should be fine. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Wendy Alling Sent: Sunday, March 15, 2015 2:23 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Need help with apple tv, please? Re: Need help with apple tv, please?
If you're setting up Apple TV for the first time: Follow these steps: 1. Connect the HDMI cable from your TV or receiver to your Apple TV. 2. Make sure that your TV is set to the correct input for your Apple TV. 3. Plug in your Apple TV power cable. 4. Wait about one minute. You should hear a voice prompting you to press the lower right button (Play/Pause) on your Apple TV remote to turn on VoiceOver. 5. Select your language. If VoiceOver is turned off: Use your Apple TV remote and follow the steps for your Apple TV model. 1. To return to the main menu, press Menu repeatedly until you hear a stop sound. 2. Press Down once. 3. Press Right repeatedly until you hear a stop sound. Settings should be highlighted. If you changed the layout of the main menu, you might not have Settings here. Use the arrow buttons on your remote to highlight Settings.Press Right repeatedly until you hear a stop sound. Settings should be highlighted. RE: Need help with apple tv, please?
Hi Wendy, First of all, you do have to make sure you have the correct input selected on your TV because if you don't, then Voiceover may give you a prompt to turn it on and you would never know. Below is a link to an Apple support article about how to turn on Voiceover for the first time: https://support.apple.com/en-mu/HT202149 If you are not sure you have selected the correct input, you might need a sighted person to check this and to practice with you as to how you can reliable change from, for example, HDMI 1 to HDMI 2.
