I prefer simply the version of the iPhone, e.g. iPhone 11, iPhone 13 Pro
or whatever. Sometimes I come across places where I forgot to remove an old
iPhone and this way I can see exactly which iPhone has to go.

Also, keep in mind that if you haver reset your iPhone or even do a
reset network settings that this will change it back to just "iPhone".

Hi all,

I have an iPhone 6 s and an iPhone 12 mini. I haven't put the old Sim
card in the new phone yet, but have the rest of it more or less completed.
The name on both iPhone is Kay's iPhone. I didn't decide this. Is it ok to
leave them as they are? Which leads me to the next question. Is it ok to
leave the passcodes the same or should I change one? I haven't set up the
new phone yet because I haven't had the time to play with face ID. I don't
expect to have trouble with it, but just haven't done so yet. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Yes, that makes sense. Maybe something terribly original like Kay's latest

Thanks.

RE: New and old iPhone questions

2021-10-31 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I would recommend you leave the passcodes the same, but it's ultimately up to
you.
As for the names I would definitely go to Settings > General > About and double
tap on the name field, at that point you can edit it and I usually call my
phones "Sieghard's iPhone" followed by the model, I currently have an iPhone 11
and still have the old iPhone 8 so those phones are "Sieghard's iPhone 8" and
"Sieghard's iPhone 11".

Re: New and old iPhone questions

2021-10-30 Thread Nimer Jaber
Hello Kay,

Your iPhone's name is fine if you keep it the way it is, though if you
don't want identifiable information like your name to be visible to others'
networks when you connect your device to them, I would consider changing to
something without your name, though as I say, it's fine kept the way it is.

As for your pass code? so long as you haven't used it for any other
service, and it hasn't been compromised, you can certainly keep using it.
If you aren't worried about security, keep using it. If it's your birthday,
or something easily guessed, or something you've used before, I would
certainly consider changing it.

Thanks.
