Re: No iOS 7 for me :'(
Yes, 2.9 gigs is pretty hectic. Mine was 1.12 gigs for my iPhone 4. It was downloading the whole night, and was standing at 800 mb when I left for work. Think I also better do some spring-cleaning before I install it. - Original Message - From: Arianna englishride...@gmail.com To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Thursday, September 19, 2013 8:38 PM Subject: Re: No iOS 7 for me :'( 2.9 gigs? Re: No iOS 7 for me :'(
Hmmm. These are thoughts. Maybe I'll get to try it after all. I don't know, though, for iPhone 4 users, the Siri improvements are moot, so do I really need control center, and a new look? I wonder if low vision users even like iOS 7 anymore than 6. On Sep 19, 2013, at 1:02 PM, Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@live.ca wrote: Hello Pete, Do you sync your music with iTunes on the computer? Re: No iOS 7 for me :'(
I sync music through iTunes, and I always update using iTunes. I'll make sure to an sink everything, and then sync it back up once iOS has updated. Hopefully you're right about it just needing more space to do whatever it does, and then shrinking or something. I have no idea what I'm talking about anymore. I thought a program or OS or whatever only took up as much space as it needed, even when installing. Oh well. RE: No iOS 7 for me :'(
Hi Ari, If you upgrade over the air the file has to first download, then probably expand and install. iOS 7 as a full download on the PC is well over 1 Gb in size and while the over the air file maybe smaller it will still be a large file and most applications have certain space requirements which maybe be more for the installation process where temporary files are created and later cleaned up/deleted. I personally prefer to upgrade via iTunes especially when it's a major update like from one complete version of iOS to the next. I get much more feedback that way. I had lots of space on my phone and you may need extra space for the update but once iOS 7 is installed I doubt it takes up more than iOS 6 or at least not much more. Also, you might want to try and update via iTunes, it may require less free space on the phone. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Pete Nalda Sent: Thursday, September 19, 2013 10:55 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: No iOS 7 for me :'( I've already deleted 1 movie, 5 albums, and 200 photos, and STILL can't get the 2.9 gb storage needed for iOS 7. Re: No iOS 7 for me :'(
If it helps my wife's phone is an 8gb 4 and I had to do it using ITunes. It did work though. On 9/19/13, Arianna englishride...@gmail.com wrote: That makes much more sense now. I prefer to upgrade using iTunes as well. At least with iTunes I get progress indicators and all that good stuff. I personally prefer to upgrade via iTunes especially when it's a major update like from one complete version of iOS to the next. I get much more feedback that way. Oh well.
