Notifications Again.
Hi. Some one said if you turn off badges that notifications would read in locked screen if you selected the alert option instead. It's not working for me as it's not made any difference. Hi, would someone please explain badges and alerts? I thought badges indicate new items, but what else do they do? Hi, I think there was a confusion between badges and banners. Banners are the alerts that are only appearing for a limited time on the screen and then go away on their own. That's what a badge does, displays the number of new items next to the app. As for alerts they are like dialogue boxes in that you are forced to read the alert and double tap a button before it will go away.
