Re: Transferring OOTunes Recordings to my Computer
There is another third-party software package called iBackup BOT (don't ask me what BOT means). Siri is both a Mac and PC version; I've use the PC version extensively. However, now that I have a Mac as well I intend to get the Mac version. If you have an interest in this software, please feel free to get in touch with me privately. – William Gallik – Sent from Bill's iPhone 5 On Jun 22, 2015, at 9:33 AM, Woody Anna Dresner wadres...@att.net wrote: Hi Tom, Ootunes files aren't in the normal file sharing table, so you need special software to find them. hi,joseph, That was an excellent mini-tutorial. I was thinking along the same lines, but my memory of the steps was quite a bit hazier than that. Thanks for that. It will be a good future reference. Thank you Teresa! I think I should also remind some of the new users of iTunes that the tutorial was meant to be used when any file is to be moved from one's iOS device to a desktop, or from one's computer to their iOS device. It was not just for files associated with OoTunes. Smile. RE: Getting OOTunes Recordings to a PC
Hello Bill and list, you've received a lot of responses to this thread, but they are all talking about iTunes file sharing. This is not applicable to Ootunes as the files are not accessible through iTunes file sharing. When I said that they are backed up in iTunes, I meant that literally; recordings are only stored in iTunes backups. In Windows, these are at c:\users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup. Unfortunately the tree structure of file names and folders is obfuscated, but if you can't determine what the file is yourself, you can use a program like iBackup Bot or iPhone Backup Extractor to show you the actual tree structure of backups and allow you to extract files from them. Some of this information was provided to me by the Ootunes developer a few years back. RE: Transferring OOTunes Recordings to a Computer
Hi Tom, the recordings are stored in iTunes backups, so can be saved to your computer that way. There's no way built within the app to export the recordings. Also, keep in mind that only recordings that you've elected to save are stored in backups. Temporary recordings are not-and in iOS 7, there is a bug where temporary recordings cannot be saved after the fact. You need to save them while the recording is in progress, such as by adding a marker. Also, the Fostex will only work with the iPhone 4 and 4s, because it cradles the phone, or iPod Touch. My Dad has an iPhone 3gs and we tried to fit it in, but it was too big. Just mentioning this, as not sure which iPhone you have, plus might be useful for others to know. Not sure if earlier iPod Touches fit in the Fostex or not, as both mine are quite new. Yes ... There's an app from digidna called Disc Aid. I think they make it for windows too. There's a checkbox under the advanced tab in the settings, it says something like show apps even if sharing isn't enabled. Check that box, then you can get your ootunes recordings. I was so happy when I got that app. Hope this helps, Courtney On Jun 16, 2012, at 10:41 PM, Brett wrote: Hi. The only way to transfer ootunes recordings to the pc is to be jailbrokdn.
