RE: Operating a HomePod with more than one device

Hi Mary,

I don't have a HomePod, but it does have Airplay 2 so you should be able to
Airplay to it from any device, anything else certainly wouldn't make sense to
me.

Subject: Operating a HomePod with more than one device

Hi all,
I was just listening to David would bridges podcast where he set up his
HomePod. And of course he was in the home app. I have an iPhone 7 Plus which is
no longer acting as a phone, since it doesn’t have a Sim card in it, although
it will do Wi-Fi calling as long as it’s on the Wi-Fi network where my real
iPhone is. I got the impression as David did his set up that you might only be
able to control the HomePod from a given device. So I’m just wondering if I
have to be careful which device I set my homePod up with. That is, if I were to
use my iPhone xr to set up the phone, can I then use my iPhone 7 Plus to do
airplay, say of an audiobook from audible or whatever. Or can I only airplane
from the device on which the set up was initially done? I hope that makes sense.
Mary
