Re: [IDevices] {Disarmed} FW: If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here's How to Speed It Up
Hi Grant, Is that option available? I don’t think I saw anything like that there. Is it in the app specific settings, or is this a general refresh in the settings? Re: [IDevices] {Disarmed} FW: If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here's How to Speed It Up
What option are you talking about? I don't see enough information in your message, and you didn't include the message you're responding to. As a guess, look in Settings - General - Background App refresh. this is just one setting that's been talked about lately to improve performance and battery consumption. You can turn off app refresh in the background globally or app by app. Links to several articles on how to configure IOS 7 have been posted lately with places to look in settings to configure different things. If you walk through some of these, you may find the setting you're looking for, or you could ask for it with a bit more detail here on list. Grant specifically stated that it was possible to control the individual app's ability to refresh itself instead of using the global refresh control found in the general settings. My apologies for being so vague, I was under the impression that no one else cared about my question since only Grant responded to it. Again, I do apologize for the misunderstanding. Re: [IDevices] {Disarmed} FW: If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here's How to Speed It Up
OK, I think I pointed to where that could be done, e.g. Settings - General - Background App Refreshing. I am not sure I recall your original question, but if Grant answered it then there wouldn't be any reason for me or anyone else to weigh in and add to list traffic unnecessarily. that doesn't mean that others don't care though or couldn't answer follow up questions. Re: [IDevices] {Disarmed} FW: If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here's How to Speed It Up
Hi Chris, The reason I asked my follow up question, which you responded to, was because I didn't specifically see that particular feature when I toggled the App Refresh on and off, so I thought it might lie somewhere else within the settings, or possibly within each app's settings. Any chance you can elaborate for me? Thanks. Re: [IDevices] {Disarmed} FW: If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here's How to Speed It Up
When I go into Settings - General - Backup App Refresh, I see a button at the top that says Background app refresh. In my case, I have this turned on. Down below, I see a list of specific apps, and I can toggle this feature on or off for each app. For example, I have Facebook off but I have Google Maps on. This way you can incrementally improve performance and battery life by specifying those apps that you want to be refreshed in the background and those you don't, instead of the more draconian measure of just turning off background app refreshing altogether.
