Hi Edward, thanks so much for those instructions. So I should upgrade to vm 5 from 3. Then install windows 7 from inside of vm and once that is done then I can install my windows screenreader from inside vmward. Just trying to make sure I have the sequence right. and that I can do all of it without sighted assistance assuming I have the windows 7 serial number. I also have this Call 911 app from Tobias Werner and have posted about in the last round of discussion about the topic of emergency calling. I would agree that it is a good choice although there are a ton of such apps out there and I'm sure there are others which would work. I do like the fact that once this app is open you can simply shake the phone to get it to call. And no, somebody asked me last time, it will not call 911 if you shake the phone unless the app is open and in the foreground. In other words, if you open the app and then press the home key and the app is still in the app switcher it will not call if you shake the phone. mind that the shake to call feature only works once the app is open. Here is one more piece of information: You could and probably should put this app in your dock or at one of the top or bottom corners of your Home Screen to find it fast. However, now that SIRI can open apps, you can also say "Open Call 911" as the app is called "Call 911" and SIRI will open it. I tried both to say "Open Call 9 1 1" and "Open Call 911" and it works no matter if you speak 9 1 1 as separate digits or as the number 911. However, you can't simply say "Call 911" because while you can say "App Store" to open the app store, if you just say "Call 911" SIRI thinks you want to actually call, it will say "Calling 911" and then "Sorry, I can't call 911". I am not sure why Apple doesn't fix SIRI so you can tell it to simply call 911, maybe in a future update. But at least if you can't get to your phone quickly or maybe your hands are covered in blood and you don't want to get it on the touch screen *smile* you could open the app with SIRI and then simply shake the phone. If you don't care for the GPS position feature you could of course simply find one of those apps which allow you to create shortcuts which dial a particular number and which you can place on your home screen and create such a shortcut to dial 911. Hi Cheryl, I use an app called 1touch911 which I have on my home page right on top. I would have to double tap that icon, then I am presented with a choice to double tap 911 or the name of one of two people to contact in case of emergency. These people are entered in the settings. The app also locates your position. In case of error, it would simply open the app and you could back out without dialing 911. A person who is at risk of, let's say, serious drop in sugar level during the night could leave the phone and app open, unlock the screen and just double tap on call 911. Other than that, there is always the possibility of getting the 1touchcall which allows you to enter a number in the settings and that number gets called as soon as you double tap on the icon. This is even better in case of emergency for 911 but has the small risk of activating it by mistake. In either case, the icon is best on the home page.
