I did flick down while on a message & selected copy. I then went to a blank
text message edit field but the rotor did not have a paste option. There was a
text selection option but no paste there either. I know this is a pretty basic
thing but once I select copy on a message & go to a blank message to someone
else, how do I paste it there.

I did try the 3 finger quadruple tap & that seemed to work except for the link.

Thanks,

Sherry Wells

If you want to copy a text message you just have to flick down when you are on
the message you want and copy will be one of the rotor items.

It only copies individual messages in a conversation, however.

Apparently text selection is not available in messages. On the Action menu
there is a copy option.

otherwise there is the three finger quadruple tap to copy the last thing spoken
by VoiceOver.

You only get text selection in edit fields or places where you can actually
select any text.

Have you tried, for example, in the Messages app or Mail app or in Notes? Open
a new Note and write something, then turn the rotor and I am pretty sure you
would find text selection.

Hello,

I have an IPhone SE & have the latest version 17 of IOS. I have text selection
on under voice over / rotor but it does not show up when I go through the
rotor. I tried unselecting it & selecting it again with no luck. I do get
something in rotor called actions. It says actions activate. When I select
that nothing happens.

So what am I doing wrong? And what is actions in the rotor?

Re: Adding Text Selection to Rotor

2024-06-30 Thread Richard Turner
It will only show up if you are somewhere you can select and then copy text. Go to a web site and try it. Richard"There's a nap for that." Sent from my iPhoneOn Jun 30, 2024, at 2:13 PM, sherrywells1...@gmail.com wrote:Hello, I have an IPhone SE & have the latest version 17 of IOS.  I have text selection on under voice over / rotor but it does not show up when I go through the rotor.  I tried unselecting it & selecting it again with no luck.  I do get something in rotor called actions.  It says actions activate.  When I select that nothing happens.   So what am I doing wrong?  And what is actions in the rotor? Thanks,Sherry WElls
