It may not, but there is little or no reason I am aware of why you wouldn't
just download and install it, I doubt it would offer it to you if it were
exactly identical to the built you have.

Hi Janet, no it won’t affect the next update.

But, there is no reason not to install the one that is on your phone, as there
could be sicurity fixes.

I have it on my iPhone 8, and there is no issues with it.

Apple releases updated version of iOS 12.1.2 for iPhone
Thursday, December 20, 2018

Apple today released “an updated version of iOS 12.1.2 that features a
new ’16C104′ build number, up from the ’16C101′ build number used for Monday’s
release,” Juli Clover reports for MacRumors.

“We don’t know why Apple has released a new version of iOS 12.1.2, but
the updated build is likely meant for those who have not yet updated to the new
software,” Clover reports. “It could contain small bug fixes or tweaks that are
not significant enough to require a full release.”

“iOS 12.1.2 is available only on the iPhone, and it can be downloaded
over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the update, go to Settings >
General > Software Update,” Clover reports. “If you’ve already updated to iOS
12.1.2 earlier this week, you probably won’t see the newer version.”

If it's just for those three phones, there's a good chance that the rest
of us probably wont get it.

Hi All,

I just downloaded iOS 12.1.2 on my xr phone.  I noticed just before I
downloaded this update, the message about the update was that this
update is for xr, xs, and x max phones, to correct a bug something
about not having cellular data in Turkey.  I wonder if that might be a
reason some people are getting the update sooner than others who don’t
have a x phone.  Just a thought.

Yeah I just checked and don't have anything. So maybe this only
pertains to some areas or phones. But I have seen updates come late in
the evening if it's an emergency or something is really broken.

Apple releases updated version of iOS 12.1.2 for iPhone

Thursday, December 20, 2018

<http://macdailynews.com/2018/12/20/apple-releases-updated-version-of-ios-12-1-2-for-iphone/>

Apple today released “an updated version of iOS 12.1.2
that features a new ’16C104′ build number, up from the
’16C101′ build number used for Monday’s release,” Juli
Clover reports for MacRumors.

“We don’t know why Apple has released a new version of iOS
12.1.2, but the updated build is likely meant for those
who have not yet updated to the new software,” Clover
reports. “It could contain small bug fixes or tweaks that
are not significant enough to require a full release.”

“iOS 12.1.2 is available only on the iPhone, and it can be
downloaded over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the
update, go to Settings > General > Software Update,”
Clover reports. “If you’ve already updated to iOS 12.1.2
earlier this week, you probably won’t see the newer version.”

> Apple today released “an updated version of iOS 12.1.2 that features a new
> ’16C104′ build number, up from the ’16C101′ build number used for Monday’s
> release,” Juli Clover reports for MacRumors.
>
> “We don’t know why Apple has released a new version of iOS 12.1.2, but the
> updated build is likely meant for those who have not yet updated to the new
> software,” Clover reports. “It could contain small bug fixes or tweaks that
> are not significant enough to require a full release.”
>
